Looks like the lakers are officially in tank mode as well.  Quite honestly, their roster is worse than ours without kobe.  And you know, if they are close enough, somehow some way they will end up with the #1 pick.  Just watch.

Why do people get the perception that the league favors the Lakers?
PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6

Not really indicating it will be the league (though can't say it won't either).  More about our luck that the the year we set out to tank, we get trumped by our biggest rival.

I see. Well, we're due for a top pick! I'd be satisfied with a top 3 pick.

It would be a fun development in the NBA for the
Lakers and Celtics to get the first two picks, drafting two franchise players who become rivals.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

The rest of the league would go crazy.

I honestly don't care who gets the top pick as long as the Celtics are in the Top 3.  I'm open to any of the Wiggins/Parker/Embiid trio.  I could talk myself into all 3 of those guys.

Wiggins...great 2-way potential.  Fantastic athlete.  playing much better as of late.  Paul George upside.

Parker, Melo JR.  Kid can score.  he's a good kid.  works hard.  I think  he'll be a very good pro for a long time.

Embiid has highest ceiling because he has rare size and skills.  once basketball is his FT job he could develop into one of the great centers in the NBA.

so any of those 3 I'm happy about.  if we miss on those 3 then I would expect a Trader Danny deal

Even with a number 1 pick I'm not expecting miracles next season.  We won the championship with 3 hall of fame players in their prime.  We would have Rondo and still a very young team.  Not even Durant or Lebron led their team very far first go around.  I still think even with a number one pick we might still need 2 or years to put all the pieces together.

Honestly, I think the very best thing for the league would be if the Celtics and the Lakers ended up getting Wiggins and Parker (doesn't matter who gets who).

Bring back the days of Magic vs Bird with Parker vs Wiggins.

This would be a too good to be true story that would send clear accusations of the lottery being fixed at the NBA. However, it would be a perfectly uplifting story for the NBA to resurrect its two greatest franchises.

If the Lakers and Celtics end up having the two worst records then it wouldn't have to be a conspiracy just the most probably option playing out.
