Maybe he is the most efficient scorer on the team? Remove Jeff Green and the spacing will turn from already horrible to abysmal. But hey, it will increase our odds in ping-pong balls.

Green is a fairly efficient scorer, and he is especially having a solid yr from 3p range, but his .429 FG% hardly makes him the most efficient scorer on the team. Humphries, Bass, and Bradley have all been more efficient.

It helps the C's tank. It helps them move Wallace's deal (due to him actually playing) and clears money off the books in...2015.

why is every supposed rumor start with "more executives think" or "an increasing amount of gms believe"? Is this the new "multiple sources." I mean yawn, wake me up when something more legit than some has been journalist speculating trade ideas up in his head.

Green and Wallace for Amare and Shumpert;

At least Amare competes when he is on the court; Green really is a frustrating player to watch; He has all the talent in the world, but he plays passively; Why is he deferring to Bradley in terms of shots? He is a better talent than bradley;
Peavey Bass Player - relearning to play after 10 years sucks;

Thing is JG can put up a lot more points than shots.

Yes, he went 4-11 last night. But on 11 shots JG put up 22 points.

JG shot 15 free throws so call that 7 possessions he took a shot. Made 13 so call that 6. In effect it would be roughly the same as 10-18 from the field.

Contrast this with a couple nights ago AB put up something like 20 points on 19 shots. He shot 50% from the field. All of them 2 pointers (except probably a couple free throws) and most of them long jumpers.

This is the difference. JG shoots 3's and draws fouls a lot, which yields more points.

I'm fairly sure JG has a much higher points per possession.

Edit: [quote troubles]

The game I was referring to is the vs. HOU game. AB shot 11-21 and went for 24 points. It's never a good thing to have more shots than points and the less shots you take to get a certain amount of points, the better.

AB lives on the long 2, which has less payoff than driving (potentially drawing the foul) and 3's.

Stats don't lie but only provide an approximation without a perfectly comprehensive system which at this point is impossible. Raw FG% provides a worse approximation than TS%.

True shooting: Bradley, .499, Green .533.
Points per shot, Bradley 1.06, Green 1.22.
EFG%, essentially the same.

And that's ignoring their track record. "All more efficient" is clearly an overstatement.

No big surprise.  His value will probably never be any higher.

Maybe this all educated guessing based on a belief that the Celtics want to keep Rondo, Bradley, and Sullinger, leaving Green as the starter that Ainge is most willing to trade.

So basically we get rid of a bad contract and get back another bad contract, with ailing knees and in its declination state.

That the Cs would trade Green is not news. Houston is not trading for Green -- they don't want the commitment he comes with when they'll be extending Parsons at the same position.

Shorter bad contract with Amar'e.

(Arguably) better prospect in Shumpert.
