Maybe he is the most efficient scorer on the team? Remove Jeff Green and the spacing will turn from already horrible to abysmal. But hey, it will increase our odds in ping-pong balls.
Green is a fairly efficient scorer, and he is especially having a solid yr from 3p range, but his .429 FG% hardly makes him the most efficient scorer on the team. Humphries, Bass, and Bradley have all been more efficient.
You lost me with this.
Bradley- .441 FG% and .365% from 3p
Green- .429 FG% and .368% from 3p
where did I lose you again?
Thing is JG can put up a lot more points than shots.
Yes, he went 4-11 last night. But on 11 shots JG put up 22 points.
JG shot 15 free throws so call that 7 possessions he took a shot. Made 13 so call that 6. In effect it would be roughly the same as 10-18 from the field.
Contrast this with a couple nights ago AB put up something like 20 points on 19 shots. He shot 50% from the field. All of them 2 pointers (except probably a couple free throws) and most of them long jumpers.
This is the difference. JG shoots 3's and draws fouls a lot, which yields more points.
I'm fairly sure JG has a much higher points per possession.
Edit: [quote troubles]
The game I was referring to is the vs. HOU game. AB shot 11-21 and went for 24 points. It's never a good thing to have more shots than points and the less shots you take to get a certain amount of points, the better.
AB lives on the long 2, which has less payoff than driving (potentially drawing the foul) and 3's.
Stats don't lie but only provide an approximation without a perfectly comprehensive system which at this point is impossible. Raw FG% provides a worse approximation than TS%.
