"More executives think the Celtics want to trade Jeff Green. They’re probably trying to persuade someone to take Gerald Wallace along with Green, though many figure they’ll eventually move Green. A nice exchange could be for Omer Asik, giving the Celtics a point guard/defensive center core to move forward with along with Jared Sullinger and Kelly Olynyk. And Houston could use Green as a stretch four scorer."

And who will be Green's replacement once we traded him? I wouldn't mind trading him if we can find someone who can produce numbers similar or better than him but trading him in the middle of the season is a desperate tank move.

I think an off season move more likely with Green. Let him finish out the season with Rondo and improve his stock. It obviously depends on the deal, but I would imagine Green is probably under-valued now on the trade market given his role/performance the first half of the season.

If it is true that Green can be better integrated into the offense under Rondo, and therefore make better use of his efficiencies (note: how often he got to the line against the Magic, finally!) he will be easier/ better to move in the offseason. Or, perhaps, he will show that he can be a more consistent scorer and we'll decide to keep him.

Good for them. At least some GMs also thought Adam Morisson will be the next  coming of Larry Bird.

This is Jeff's 6th year in the league, GMs have a pretty solid grip on who he is as a player. I don't think half a season playing with Rondo (who's trying to get into game shape himself) is going to bring on any grand epiphanies for GMs regarding Jeff.

I don't necessarily think it's a tank move. As much as I want Green to stay and root for him, it's hard seeing him play because he is so inconsistent. I mean hopefully Rondo coming back will change things for him, but if the right deal comes AND if they are willing to take Wallace's contract - you gotta jump on that

Maybe he is the most efficient scorer on the team? Remove Jeff Green and the spacing will turn from already horrible to abysmal. But hey, it will increase our odds in ping-pong balls.

The way Terrence Jones is playing and Chandler Parsons doing good again, Green would be perfect 6th man off the bench..no pressure on him
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Which is the plan all along isn't it

Um, yeah, that doesn't work very well. The problem with Green is not pressure, the problem is that he doesn't have enough moves to be the first option every time down the court -- regardless of whether this happens over the course of 30 minutes as a starter, or 25 minutes off the bench.

Green has so far shown to be best in a role where he can soak up big minutes, and give you offensive and defensive burst in stretches.
