We really need to keep Humphries. He is only 28 (same as Rondo) and he is definitely part of the solution.  As much as I like Bass, Humphries is more valuable. The more cap space we make the more we should keep Hump....

For the right money I'd really like him.  I've been alright with not playing him as much but he's playing really well right now.  He's a good rebounder and versatile enough otherwise (garbage pts, midrange j, shot blocking, solid defender, decent size for both positions).  It'd be great if we could get another big and have Hump and Olynyk be our bigs off the bench.

But I don't know how much money you can spend on him in that scenario.  I could see him getting paid well by someone on a short deal maybe, who could use a big off the bench or specifically a rebounder.

I've been thinking this for a little while now. He's still the player who averaged a double-double a few years back. Plays with a lot of energy and doesn't complain when his role is diminished or changed. I'd love to have him for around 4-5mil a year.

I like him.  He always plays hard and adds toughness.  That said, I don't see him as a core piece so I don't really care if he comes back next year.

Do you want him to start at PF next season?

Need him as a glue piece . hard worker , team player , good example for young players.....good listener  .......easy to coach .

He should stay ....a good mix piece for our draft picks .......vet experience .....at a fair price would be nice

I think he actually appreciates the Celtics and is a true player who loves the game

He is refreshing to see a guy with a decent ,  non diva attitude. For once .........no Kobe's or Melo or CP3. Thank you.

Keep him at a responsible contract  level.     Then let him go as other players develop .

If it means starting Sullinger at the 5, not really.

+1 on this. Hump is all hustle.  We could use him as a backup 4 every day of the week. Those who can't see this just don't get what he brings night in night out.

I like him as a 10-15mpg backup big for $2-3 million a year.

But the Celtics already have two superior PFs on the books in Jared Sullinger (30-35mpg starter) and Brandon Bass (20-25mpg backup big) and a third young PF in Kelly Olynyk who needs playing time to develop. So no interest in keeping Humphries.

I am sure Humphries would have ended up demanding more money and playing time than I would be comfortable in giving him (10-15mpg, $2-3mil) anyway. So even without the PF options already on the team, I'd pass on keeping Hump.

No, we really don't. Hump is a nice little player but is easily replaceable and is should not be a part of this team's future plans unless it is at a significantly reduced price, like vet min to $3 million a year.

I can see him as a useful backup.  I just think that he wouldn't want to come back unless the team was committed to starting him or paying him more money than other teams would give him to start.

he's looking like a really good back up PF and wouldn't mind him coming back next year on a more-reasonable contract but we've already got Sully and KO to develop and we'd really need to move Bass to justify keeping him.

I guess I'd have to see after the draft what kind of spot we were in to say if we should consider bringing Hump back.  The guy has played really well, but if we are committed to Sully, KO, can't get rid of Bass and still on the hook for Wallace then I don't know how you can say bring back Hump.

I'm not giving up on KO although I think he might spend more time as a SF playing kind of like Bird did with a true C, Sully guarding the post forward and KO guarding the wing forward.

We have to leave some wiggle room that the best player we can acquire happens to be a 4, like Randle.

If we end up with guards and a small forward after the draft I wouldn't mind having Hump back on the cheap but I think someone outbids us or he wants to go back to the west coast on a contender for equal money.

Sorry to tell you this, but Humphries has been better than Sully this season.  Yes I hear the pain in the hearts of all Celtics after reading this but it's true.  Hump has been the ultimate model of consistency and on a per minute basis his production  has been consistently excellent, while Sully ha been up and down like a yoyo.  Hump has had a better slshot selection offensively, heknows his limitations and plays the game within his limits, while Sully is out there popping up threes at 28% at three per game.  The ONLY reason if keep sully over hump right now is upside, because sully is young there's a good chance he'll get better, while Hump well likely be the same player in the future.

Sully is a nice player, but he's also joyously overrated by Boston fans.  We talk about things like whether you would trade him for Kevin Love, etc., as if he is a Star.  He's not.  He's undersized, he's not very athletic, he is foul prone (ans fragrant prone) andhas yet to show any real consistency this season.  Even Bradley and Greenhave been more consistent than Sullythis season.

Hump has been or most productive player, with Bradley probably a close second, followed by a two way tie between Green and Sully.  Neither of those guys is a clear cut starter on a championship team, butBradley and Greenare the closest to it.
