Love is starting to get disgruntled in Minny
Quote
Kevin Love is not a happy camper, and as usual, he isn't afraid to share his feelings about it.

Even without the Timberwolves' latest close-game failure on Wednesday night against Phoenix -- which infuriated Love and inspired him to rip two of his teammates without naming them -- Minnesota has a familiar issue on its hands. Facing the eternal question that confronted the Nuggets with Carmelo Anthony, the Magic with Dwight Howard, the Jazz with Deron Williams and the Cavaliers with LeBron James, the Timberwolves must at some point ask themselves the following: When do you trade a star player who doesn't want to be there?

I love Sully , and think he plays better D than Love, but Love is an elite scorer/shooter and rebounder in the NBA. I think Love and Rondo would be a deadly combo.

Say the deal is

Bos sends : Sully, Hump(expiring), filler , clips 1st rd pick, and atl/nets 1st rd pick this year

Minny sends Love

I would probably do it , a core of Rondo, Love, Green, Bradley , Top 5 pick is pretty nice .

We would still need a defensive anchor. If you can't get Embiid ,Parker, or Wiggins you can package that pick to get an all-star level center IMO.

Absolutely not. Kevin Love is my least-favorite superstar in the NBA. He doesn't make the game of basketball look good.

Now, if you're talking about winning games, then absolutely you include Sullinger as the main piece in a trade for Love. We talk about Sullinger playing at Kevin Love's level in the best case scenarios... why not trade for the real deal when he's only 25?

All for naught, though--I'm 75% certain he's going to be a Laker.

Include Sullinger? You mean in addition to Rondo and Green, right?

is that even a serious question? you'd have to come up with a lot more than Sully to get him.

trade them Rondo, Green & Sully for Love & Rubio (who, yes i know, stinks).

I dont know what statement qualifies as "more no brainer" than the phrase "no brainer"... but whatever that statement is, this question would qualify.

I don't think they'd want Rondo without Love and I don't see why the Celtics would really want Love without Rondo.  If Rondo's being traded away, it's to rebuild; if Love's being traded away, it's also to rebuild.  The idea is to pair those two up since they're relatively close in age and probably make a lot more sense for immediately competing; the youthful prospects on both the Celtics and the Wolves (say, Sullinger and Bradley with Rubio) can then be paired up in hopes of making a future contender.

If the Celtics get the third pick in this draft I could see them flipping it and sullinger/green for Love

Of course you would, the bigger question is what else do we have to give up to get him?

It would have to be draft picks in a Pau Gasol to the Lakers type trade.

Sullinger/Humphries/Anthony/2 #1's

for

Love/Shabazz

Basically you take some of what the Nets gave and flip it for Love.  Win for Celtics.  Im sure it would take the two most valuable pieces we have.  Nets 2018 pick and Celtics 2014.

Love is really good, but I am not giving up this years pick until we know where it is . If it's top 3 I'm not trading it .

Of course Sullinger is expendable in any deal for Love, despite Love's weaknesses. However, I don't think this is the right trade for the Celtics now. The team does not have enough talent to surround Rondo and Love with the help they would need and Love would just leave next year like he plans to leave Minnesota. The Celtics need more assets before they make a win now move.

When the Celtics made the trades for Allen and Garnett, they still had Rondo, Pierce, and Perkins left over to round out the starting 5. A deal for Love would leave them with... Jeff Green? Their two biggest needs right now are a defensive big man and a dynamic, scoring GF type (like a Pierce or a George). Dealing for Love would still require those two gaping holes to be filled.
