No. We have Love in Sully for a 21st pick. Sure Love is better now but he had a chance to work and Sully hasn't yet... I'm keeping Sully and w/e else I have to give up for Love! You may think I'm crazy believing Sully is going to be as good (I think he can be better b.c of defense), I don't care, we will see!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

I don't know about this.

What if he leaves in a year, to go play for the Lakers?  He'd cost us a couple 1st's at least, that's a lot to give up for a player who might only stay one year.

Does he really want to "follow" in KG's footsteps with the Minny-to-Boston connection?

IDK, it's not as cut and dry as it might seem.  I mean, including Sully, if you are going to trade for him, is a 'no-brainer', but I'm not sure I'd trade for him at all.

I'd want to talk to the player first, see where his mind is at about staying in Boston, long-term.

I would do it, but I don't know. Sullinger is doing pretty well, and we've yet to see what his highest ceiling is. At best he can be a Kevin Love without the 10+ RPG. If Sullinger can manage 18 PPG 8 RPG and 2 APG I'd be happy. I think Sullinger in the future may or may not be our franchise player. We just need one more star, and above average defensive Center to help us win Banner 18.

I think that Sullinger is great, but he will get overpaid relative to what his value is in today's NBA.  Post players like that just aren't going to cut it anymore.  If we could get as good of a player as Kevin Love for him without having to give up much else than Sully, I would be all in.

That being said, I wouldn't do this trade until the offseason and also, we would have preferably gotten rid of Bass at the trade deadline to free up space.  If we could somehow get Asik and Love, Rondo back and a top 7 pick, we could be actual contenders.

It would have to be draft picks in a Pau Gasol to the Lakers type trade.

Sullinger/Humphries/Anthony/2 #1's

for

Love/Shabazz

Basically you take some of what the Nets gave and flip it for Love.  Win for Celtics.  Im sure it would take the two most valuable pieces we have.  Nets 2018 pick and Celtics 2014.

Love is really good, but I am not giving up this years pick until we know where it is . If it's top 3 I'm not trading it .
I think we could get away with not including our pick this year - maybe Nets pick this year, and our pick next year?

To expand on this idea, we have a lot of assets left over to snag another star - Melo?  Would this be enough to tempt the Knicks?

Green/Olynyk/Bogans/Bass/3 x future firsts

for

Melo

This will give us a big 3 of Rondo/Melo/Love - surely Love and Melo wouldn't want to leave that? Still leaves us with Bradley, and Fav to round out the starting line up.

Love can complain about the team here and Wallace can complain about Love's defense.

If we were to get Love for Sullinger and other assets, the NBA may as well reclassify the Twolves as the celtics developmental league affiliate.

I agree, California Boy too.

I would trade Sully in a NY  minute for KLove.  I doubt they would touch it.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I would 100% trade anyone besides Rondo in a package for Love. People talk all the time about 'a good core moving forward' and list Rondo, then a smattering of our current players.

Rondo + Love is a core. It'll be the best core we've had since Pierce-Allen-Garnett. They compliment each other offensively as much as any 4 possibly could compliment Rondo. It's a contending base, where you can plug in 3 other competent role players and be a real force.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
Absolutely.

Sully, draft picks, another player not named Rajon Rondo, you name it, for Kevin Love? Yes!

Would do it for sure, for pretty much anything but Rondo and our 2014 pick if it ends up being top 5.

I'd give up Sully for Love in a second, but I'd hesitate to give up this year's pick. Now if we could somehow pull off something like Sullinger, Humphries, and a few of the Nets picks for Love (rather wait till the draft so we still have a top pick) we could end up with a core of Rondo, Bradley, Green, Love, and then hopefully Embiid If we get lucky. That looks like a pretty competitive team but then again none of this seems very likely.
