Put him on the END of the BENCH. .....ignore him

The Celtics have to PAY him.....        Unfortunately  ::)

But sure don't have to PLAY  him

Let him rot  on the end of the bench.

Crawford seems to be trying to do way too much on his own and its really killing our offense in a big way.

this right here. this is 90% of the offenses problem right now. the other 10% is after we get a rebound we have a 1 on 3 and we pull up and take a jump shot. or very early in a possession AB just decides to come off a pick and take a contested jumper.

there's absolutely no discipline to our offense right now. if BS doesn't realize this soon we won't be blaming the players much more.

I feel bad for the guys on the team.  I believe that they are trying their best.  But they're simply not constructed to win.  I think this team is honestly playing as well as they can play.  13-22 is probably pretty close to the best the record could be at this point.
Yeah our solid play was so very tenuous. No margin for error at all, slight injuries and shooting slumps completely undue all of the effort put in.

That's why so many big leads would disappear, no real strength of talent to fall back on.

Yeah there's a general sense of sympathy I feel for the guys on this team.

They're not stupid, they know this team is not built to win and I'm sure they'd love to stick it in Ainge's face but they can't.

I don't have anything against what he said here BUT him saying it to the media AGAIN is more of an issue.  For the celtics to win or have a chance this year with the team as constructed:
few turnovers, outside shots / 3 pointers going in, defense & rebounding

I think guys know trade deadline is coming, crawford is playing more and more like bad crawford, i'd like ainge to move him asap.  I'd rather loose with team ball.  I hope attitudes stay good until rondos return, then it will really be game time practice for NEXT season.  It'll be interesting to see who is traded next, we will have something go down and my guess is hump or bass is part of a deal.

Unless we're playing Craw less at point we don't have that many viable options at that position, but I agree he's killing the offense. He had a couple of good weeks in December, but he's regressed since he won ECPOW. His box scores can look so deceiving to the casual watcher.

Practice doesn't really apply to anything with making yourself better.
Haha sounds identical to Iverson, is Wallace recruiting him?

In all seriousness, Iverson is probably a role model to Gerald Wallace.  AI became a household name who is known everywhere due to his rants, Wallace knows gaining media attention will help leave his mark on history way more than anything he does on the court at this point.  There's no such thing as bad press, do you people also get outraged when some other celebrity or musician doesn't refuse to answer interview questions?

And how can you really blame Wallace, sadly way more people read the internet articles than watch the actual games.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

That's an awfully cynical outlook you're accepting. You're also piggybacking off of the connotation you've created between Iverson and Wallace to prove this ulterior motive you have.

I think Wallace is frustrated being one of the few veterans on the team, almost as old as the head coach, and realizing that these guys are talented enough to be winning a few more games.

If he were going for a 'mark on history' there are plenty of options that don't include being relatively reserved and answering questions candidly that would stir the pot more.

Leadership isn't whining to the media, Wallace has shown little signs of leadership. If anything the rants after every tough stretch reveal how little leadership he actually has.

If your game doesn't back up your talk players aren't going to listen to you. Wallace doesn't have that game anymore and given his statements to the media (which started IMMEDIATELY this season) the team doesn't care for what he has to say.

Yep, I agree.  The two things I was going to say were: 1) Wallace shouldn't be doing this through the media; and 2) Wallace needs to lead by example, by performing on the floor.
I personally don't think performance really has anything to do with leadership.  I mean look at guys like Scalabrine or Sam Cassell, everybody listened to them without even playing.

I think leadership is more of a personal bond that can't possibly be determined by you or I (who have no clue how the players actually feel).  If they see Wallace as a good leader then he is, regardless of how he plays or answers media questions; if they don't then he isn't, regardless if he's leading the team in every category.

I also don't think that taking it outside the locker room automatically strips you of your leadership.  Shaq might as well have had his own reality show with a confessional and everything.  Honestly the fact that people even give the time of day to Wallace's quotes is ridiculous considering what those Lakers did in the media.

There is a world of difference between a respected bench player, (Bogans, Cassell, Dooling, PJ Brown), and a player playing poorly as the 6th man who's constantly calling out the team via the media.

Not to mention these call outs started in the preseason IIRC.

I personally like wallace. Is he overpaid, yes. And he is not performing too well bc he is old....are older players still performing well? Duncan....YES but Wallace had/has a different style of play al effort, heart, and being physical...which can take a toll on the body quicker than others.

Wallace gets frustrated bc he wants these younger guys to play a little more like he did in his younger days...which wouldnt hurt the team at all!

I also don't mind his rants...the team could do well by listening and trying to use his advice.  I dont think he only says it to the media either, saying it to the media just re-iterate his points and his frustration.

People don't like Wallace bc of his salary. But it's more the nets fault for overpaying not him, plus he deserves the money bc after he retires the dude prly wont be able to do much bc of the way he played in his career. Finally without his bad contract the Nets Deal might not have gotten done.....and the Nets deal is lookin sweeter and sweeter errrrday

In the end I like wallace, not his contract but I can tolerate it

2) Wallace needs to lead by example, by performing on the floor.

If Wallace is performing as well as someone with his diminishing abilities is capable of performing, then that would be a good example.  Is he doing the best he can reasonably be expected to do or can he play better but just isn't trying hard enough?

I don't think Wallace is completely done he just thinks too much on offense he always tries to set up teammates and never shoots the ball.
