  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Just finished making a mock draft on my website. Please check it out and tell me what you think. I should be posting one a month until the draft happens in June.

TP.

That's a great looking mock draft.  Move over Chad Ford.

Yeah. I loved it as well. Very well done .

Aaron stock rises again. I wish it would stop though. Less chance of us having a choice to draft him

That article says: "Caveat in the best freshman balloting: Duke's Jabari Parker, Gordon's fellow first-year phenom, won the award two years ago."

How is that possible?  What?

Aaron Gordon=Shawn Marion.

Fine player, but not a building block IMO.

Yeah, I think they have similar profiles: combo forwards who play off the ball and whose defense makes up a lot of their value.  As funky as scorer as Marion's been, he still was able to average 20 plus points without Nash.  I doubt Gordon gets anywhere near that.  I also don't think he's as athletic as Marion who is quicker and morce fluid.  As good a leaper as Gordon is, his offensive moves are pretty robotic.  He's a really good all-around defender though.

you know what? How about considering he is a big part of Arizona being the only undefeated team right now? And they have beat Duke, UCLA, Michigan

The kid is a winner. Arizona is not like a stacked team either. He has been big. Big stats are not everything

Arizona's not stacked? What? Almost every rotation player on that team besides their starting point guard was a big time recruit.  They have three McDonald's All-Americans besides Gordon.  Including Gordon, they have about five NBA prospects of varying quality (Nick Johnson, Ashley, Kaleb, Rondae-Hollis).  Further, winning in college basketball does not equate to winning in the NBA.

Is nick johnson, hollis jefferson before this year considered as highly regardrd than embiid, wiggins, selden? Duke, uk also stacked with top level talent. Arizona should not be undefeated

Would like to see more of him, as I've seen this before and as of now, it hasn't panned out.

See Gobert, Rudy.

See Gobert, Rudy.

It was well known prior to the 2013 Draft that Gobert was a project pick and is widely considered not NBA-ready.

Good Comparison though, both are similar in height and wingspan although Tavares is 30 lbs heavier and to Gobert's credit his family has a basketball background(father is a basketball player) while Tavares only started to play basketball on 2010.

I have a question for people.  Let's say we get the 5th or 6th pick and Randle slips and is the best player available.  Do we draft him and trade Sully,  trade the pick and keep Sully, draft both and figure it out later?

Sullinger and Randle would do alot of beasting down low. Yeah you would choose him in that situation

I think the smart move would be to trade down a few spots (to where a player Danny likes will probably still be available or better yet agree in principal to the deal only if that player is available at the lower pick and then make the deal) and pick up another 1st round pick or a good young player.
OR, maybe move a vet on a deal with that pick like Wallace.   Say trade the 6th pick and Wallace for the 10th and maybe a high second or future first or an expiring deal or better yet an unguaranteed contract that can be cut/waived.

I'm pretty happy with Sully and not seeing Randle as a significant upgrade where I'd move Sully who is proving himself a legit NBA player

This Swiss 19 yr old named Clint Capela who was just profiled by Draftexpress looks extremely promising.  From the highlights anyway, his athleticism is eye-popping.  He is freakishly fast, fluid and coordinated at any height but especially for someone over 6'10.  He might be the second best athlete after Wiggins or tied with him.  Sure he struggles to shoot and complete passes but at least he can finish around the basket, which would be enough if he can become a big defensive presence.  Hopefully he's an option with the Brooklyn/Atlanta pick.

I agree. Kind of looks like a cross between Biyombo and Durant. (not skill wise but size + athletic abilities)

Draftexpress is right, he is quick and really gets of the ground fast. 7'4 wingspan and wide shoulders also do nothing but help. Without much skills still could potentially get you 10 pts (easy buckets), 10 rebounds, 3 block shots. And if he learns anything more , its a bonus. Just hope he is not a total dummy like Fab Melo. At least it looks like he can really rebound + block shots

Id think about using our 2nd 1st to draft him
