I think this is the most I've heard Lee sound displeased

Quote
But Boston Celtics' wing Courtney Lee was more upset than usual ... and it was about more than just the game.

He was angry at head coach Brad Stevens' decision to not play him in the second half of Saturday's 106-99 loss to Washington - something that had not happened to Lee in a single game all season.

But as angry as he is about the matter, Lee said he will not make any trade demands.

"Nah. I been through worst (expletive) in life than basketball," he told CSNNE.com. "I don't give up on nothing that easy. It's never going to get to that point. No one man can make me want to walk away from a situation. Now if I get traded, I get traded. That's one thing. But I'll never ask for a trade."

Lee said he was given no explanation for why he didn't play in the second half of Saturday's loss.

"I can't ... I can't figure it out other than I missed a couple shots," said Lee who was 0-for-3 shooting in seven minutes, 40 seconds of court time. "That could be the only reason why he didn't play me."

Quote
"I give credit to Avery," Lee said. "He had it going. So it made sense to leave him in while he's going. But what I'm saying in the same sense, there were games when I had it going and I came out of the game.

Quote
"Are you going to be consistent with what you do? If you're gonna stick to a time subbing pattern that you make before the game and not go off how the game's going? Or are you going to go off of how the game is going? I don't know."

Lee said he has talked with Stevens about the situation, but didn't sound overly optimistic that things will be resolved to his satisfaction.

"We talked," Lee acknowledged. "Of course it's always going to be everything said that I want to hear. But I mean, you see that's not the case when I'm out there."

I think these couple of losses and trade rumor is getting to him..even though he wants to say he ignores that stuff.

He had some strong comments pretty much saying Brad's just talking and he doesn't believe him until he gets the playing time. What is he going to do when Rondo comes back?

I personally agree with Lee.

I have loved Stevens thus far, and I have loved watching the Celtics this season. With that said, today was the worst game of the year for me to watch.

They played awful. Crawford pounding the ball in the ground in the fourth and turning it over like it's his job. Green with a lazy pass with around 5 to play in the game that leads to a TO. No semblance of organization on offense, and no sign that they are doing anything to remedy relatively oblivious defense.

Couple that with the PT of Sully, the removal of Pressey from the game and the weird decisions on Humphries and Lee, and I hope that Stevens learns from this game.

Maybe he was trying to keep the guys fresh for tomorrow's game. But maybe this team needs a wake up call. That was dreadful to watch today.

Bradley is not going to be benched, and Crawford has been our best guard, so when Rondo comes back Courtney sits his ass down. We better trade him soon.

This is a little silly for Lee to make these comments, and they sound like it's just frustration about not being traded spilling over.

He also has a point, Lee is the best shooter on this team and is extremely efficient.  If he's healthy he shouldn't be sitting an entire half.

He know he's going to be asked for a follow up on these comments..this should be interesting.

I can say see somewhat of what he's saying. When he's had it going and then he's subbed out,but he should know that after being on the trade block this week, and comments like these are going to be taken to a different level.

Fair enough. He is too good a player to be happy with only 17mpg.

There are about 12 rotation worthy players on this team, yet ideally a rotation should only be 9, maybe 10 players deep.  Somebody is going to be left out at times, and there will be guys who get less playing time than they might deserve.

Lee is a decent player, but he doesn't bring much to the table other than scoring, and he's not good enough at that to be a go-to guy on the second unit or anything.

He has no future with this team and he likely knows it, so he's anxious to get out there on the floor and audition for somebody to pick him up and give him starter minutes.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

He's a decent reserve.  Overpaid in my view, but still a decent backup 2.  I think 17 minutes a game is about right for him.  Bradley's better than him, and Bradley playing 31 mpg seems about right, too.

I think it's totally right for our situation but there are definitely other teams, better ones I'm sure, where he could have more minutes.  We just are a roster of SGs and PFs.

He wouldn't dare say Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. to Doc when Doc was totally misusing him last season and the season before but he has the audacity to go to the media and call out a young great coach like Brad Stevens.  Wow, I wasn't expecting that.  Bye then.  Trade him.
