Mannix was just on the prgame show. Says Houston wants 2014 pick, Danny wants it to be 2015
While technically the 2015 pick will surely be worse than the 2014 pick... that seems way too little of a holdup.

Does D. Motiejunas have any potential?  I haven't heard anything about him?

I don't have much faith that Ainge can also get Motiejunas included in the deal.

But if he could, wow. Another 7-footer with shooting range out to three. Similar skill set to Olynyk.

Monty has Bruno Sundov written all over him. Not hellbent on having him in the deal.

Motiejunas is very talented and a 7 footer, very similar to Olynyk as Lucky17 said. I would love to get him.

The Hawks/Nets pick could be quite high. I hope Ainge protects it.

But it might be the protection that's the problem.

You're expecting both the Hawks and the Nets to bomb out of the playoffs? Unlikely to happen. As a matter of fact, it's likely that our own pick will be better than whatever we get from that transaction.

Agree here.

Rockets needed a forward that can fit well with Dwight's inside presence, so they must have needed someone who has atleast a range of 18 feet and consistently hit those jumpers.

The fact that Terrence Jones is playing over him makes me think he's not as good as everyone thought.

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
I'm fine giving up the worse of our two 2014 picks. I think in the end they will settle on a protected pick whose protection deceases every year.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Tommy doesn't want it. :(

He's been right a lot recently.

He always likes the players he has on the team better than the alternative. Wait until Asik gets here and you'll see him talk about how he's the next Bill Russell and how much better Sullinger will be with him since he'll be overpowering other PFs, etc. etc.

The ultimate homer.

I wouldn't mind Asik Russell at all. haha

I'm under the impression D-Mo might be worse on D than KO.

D-Mo could have conceivably played PF next to Asik, and next to Dwight this year. He's a PF. And they need a PF right now.

KO on the other hand has had to play the 5. Olynyk has statistically not been a good defender but his positioning and decision making on D has been quite impressive (imo) for a rook. He's done enough to stay on the floor.

Of course, D-Mo has more length and is more talented.

My impression from all the hype is that even mid-late first could be valuable in this draft.

And you never know. The Nets are old. And an injury to any of the teams would change everything.

I can't believe that 73% voted that a good trade for Asik was Bass, Lee and a first round pick.  have you all gone bananas???
Brad Stevens has brought this team together with his philosophy of family, camaraderie and trust. I just hope that Stevens has some say in any trade talks and I also hope that DA is smart enough to stay away from this overhyped trade.
IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT!!!

Stevens has done a great job but 12-14 in an awful EC is not exactly great....If it was Bass, Lee and a pick, I would sign off on that...

Considering how the schedule was to start the season I'd say thats pretty darn good.  Above what everyone, and I mean everyone thought going in.  It's pretty darn respectable considering the changes and the initial schedule.

Right, they have played well but being 12-14 is not a good enough reason for not to upgrade the roster.  If they lose Bass, Lee and add Asik, that's an upgrade.

Are you sure Asik is an upgrade to "THIS" team.
At this point, I would really love to see Ainge let these guys play out the season.  wouldn't that be a true measure of what Stevens can do.
My only expendables being Brooks, Bogens and possibly Wallace.
Even if Rondo doesn't return until mid January, the Celtics will make the playoffs and if they go on to have even a good showing in the first round then I would give Stevens a wide berth as to what players he wants and doesn't want on this team. Brad Stevens is a genius at molding young minds, now don't turn this around, I did not say he was a genius as a coach, I said, of molding young minds.

This team gets better each week and is a lot of fun to watch.

I don't find it (that much) fun to watch a team that's clearly held back by subpar rebounding and inferior inside defense, but that's just me.

It's a good trade.

I like to watch the team but I keep saying man if we just had a true center than sully would do so much better at pf AND wouldn't take the beating he is in the low post against 7' big fellas
