Sac is prepared to offer Isah Thomas, Maclemore, Thorton,Thompson and two 1st rd picks for Rondo and Wallace

Thoughts?

Its a strong offer, but I am not completely sold on Maclmore, how good will he be?

I do love watching Isah Thomas play, I agree about not being sold on Maclemore and even thompson. The 2 1st round picks would be very nice, but it would be a huge hit to get rid of Rondo.

That really is a solid offer, but I'm not sure the benefits are worth loosing Rondo over.

Dam….you beat me to it and stole my thunder (lol!!!)

I just saw this myself.

I think this is a pretty good return for Rondo/Wallace.

Only problem is we get really guard heavy with this deal.

I've got to think they'll be another deal coming involving Courtney Lee and/or Avery Bradley.

By the way to answer your question, McLemore is pretty good!

He's averaging 9pts per game…pretty good for a rookie

By the way, here's another link on this story

I really dig IT2. Probably my favorite young point guard in the league right now.

Not sure how I feel about the trade idea, though.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

Don't really believe any of these.   This one would depend on how Ainge felt about McLemore's ceiling.  It's the kind of deal you'd need to trade Rondo though.

No thanks.

I feel a Rondo/Stevens lead team could do some very special things.
*CB Miami Heat*
Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

I do this if we can add Crash's contract and get Jimmer in addition to the other assets.

I am not in favor of trading Rondo...but if this deal is correct (which I REALLY doubt it is), I might have to change my opinion:

Rondo and Wallace for:

Thomas, McLemore, Thornton, Thompson, and 2 first round picks.

That would be an absolute haul, and would be nearly impossible to turn down, depending on the specifics of the picks.

Mostly though, I think this deal is BS.

I love Rondo, he's my 2nd favorite player behind paul pierce currently in the league, but that is a phenomenal deal and you have to take it and run.
You can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into.

You forgot to mention that they want to send Thorton too..

Isiah Thomas, Marcus Thorton, McLemore, Thompson and two first round picks.

Thats a pretty huge return for Rondo. However, I still say no. I think Rondo is much more important than to us than that package would be. We would just be the Kings 2.0 with two extra first rounders.

Dang, I don't want to trade Rondo, but how can you turn down...

1. Getting rid of Wallace's contract
2. High-upside prospects in Thomas and McLemore
3. Contributing vets in Thornton and Thompson
4. Multiple firsts

That's a pretty ideal situation.

The two picks, McLemore and Isaiah is actually a pretty good haul for Rondo IMO, if we could find a way to send them Wallace to clear even more space that would be great.

I am not sure this is reliable source and even if it is I'm not sure the Celtics trade Rondo without seeing how good he can be with the current cast first
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I don't think Boston needs any more draft picks, so I'd say this deal really comes down to how good you think Thomas and McLemore can be.  Also, if you make this deal, you better have other trades lined up for Green, Bass and Lee because getting rid of Rondo also means going full on tank this season.  There's ZERO reason to trade Rondo unless you're determined to outsuck Philly and company for the 2014 draft.

Maybe yes maybe no.

There's no doubt a trade like this would be designed for the "long term" BUT who's to say that this wouldn't make us a better team, this year.

This certainly makes the Celtics much more of a scoring team and between the 2nd half of last season and this season so far, it appears playing without Rondo doesn't seem to be a major problem for the Celts.
