I think Henson whom we played last night could be perfect.  He blocks shots, runs and boards and would compensate for Sully's inability to protect the rim.

Maybe I am a homer, but i can see Sully becoming a legit starting PF in this league, 18-10 guy who commands a double in the post.

So, in my mind, ideal fit next to him would be a guy like Sanders - rim protector who is also fantastic in defending PNR. He is limited offensively but with a PG like Rondo he would get 10 points a game without a single play being called for him.

I know he just signed an extension but we are talking about the Bucks. They traded Tobias Harris for the 3 month rental of JJ Redick. Their 'win now' signings during the summer turned out to be one of the best unintentional tanks ever. Their owner is known as an anti-tanker so who knows what direction they might go. Larry Drew was very critical of Sanders before his hand injury, he played him only 17 mins a game in their first 3 games.

Just for fun, something like: Green + Olynyk for Sanders + Butler (exp) (I would add Clipps '15 pick with lottery protection if needed)

Dream scenario next season: Rondo Bradley Parker/Wiggins Sully Sanders

Young and fun lineup with a lot of upside where Rondo at 28 is your oldest player. Danny would still have Nets '16 and '18 picks to play with. This team would get better just as Miami/Indiana would get older.

One can dream, right? :)

Oh, well..

Sully is already a legit starting PF, we just dont have a legit center to start next to him so he plays out of position a lot. The trouble with guys like Sanders, is they cant hold interior position defensively against low post scoring people like Sully, Dwight, the Gasol's, Chandler, Cousins, Monroe/Drummond, Hibbert, Aldrige and so forth. Thats why the Bucks went out and got Pachulia.

We need someone with length and strength IMO.

What about horford from atl?  Seems he's a big body rebounder that Danny might could get for a pick and a player.

Horford is a good player but I'm not sacrificing any picks for him, especially since we're no where near contending. We just don't need that kind of player right now. If we were closer to winning a title and had a real franchise player he'd be a nice piece to add though.
You can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into.

Last year Sanders allowed .760 pts per possession, according to Synergy Sports. He ranked 3rd among starting Cs (Perkins, Gasol).

He was among some of the best defenders in the NBA in terms of on-court defensive rating (98.8 points per 100 possessions) versus off-court (105.6 points per 100 possessions) defensive rating.

Most importantly, I remember that Kirk Goldsbery wrote an article on Grantland where he said that Sanders held opponents to the lowest shooting percentage on attempts inside of five feet in the league.

Sanders has issues on the other side of the floor though.

The pick I had in mind was the one from NJ this year that could wind up being Atl's anyway.  I would not give up one of the future ones.

Keep ours, pray for top six or seven pick, and add Horford to Rondo, Sully, and pick (hopefully a SF or SG).

Horford would be incredible but I can't see Atlanta parting with him in the near future.

The Hawks have good flexibility and are currently trying to rebuild their team with Horford the main building block. Maybe two years down the line things will look different but right now it looks impossible. I think anything less than an MVP caliber or maybe top ten player (prime or early career) gets rejected by Atlanta. They value Horford too highly + have enough flexibility to be confident they can rebuild around him. Plus, Horford seems pretty happy there.

Sully and KO aren't going anywhere so whoever Danny gets to play center will end up being a rim protector first and foremost.  Would help if he can pass too.

The first person that comes to mind that fits that description is Joakim Noah. Marc Gasol fits also.
Yep, and neither one is coming here.

KO and Sully are the bigs that will play along side a serious center one day.  I wish it was Kevin Love, Marc Gasol, , Varajeo, or a good defense minders active like Noah center....not a plodding Perk like center.

With Rondo. ,   The main piece we lack is a top talent center and just keep Fav as his backup. Or Colton Iverson as third Center.

Bass, Wallace, Humph and Brooks need to go

Another name is Cousins.  A 3 big rotation of Cousins, Sullinger, and KO would be very nice.

Most everyone who is on a rookie contract , and worth the money it will take for a new contract will resign with the team that drafted them because they can offer more money , and the player coming off his rookie contract will be cashing in for the first time.

That means you can scratch off guys like Anthony Davis, Monroe,  Drummond, sander

You might be able to trade for those guys down the line when their 2nd contract is running out, but until the its not likely

There could be some big name free agents in 2015 who are not coming off rookie contracts . Love , Aldridge, Marc Gasol are the main guys . Portland seems to be on the verge of contending again so I will take Aldridge off the list . Love is an LA boy so I see him joining the lakers as a free agent.

That leaves Marc Gasol as the main guy we could have a shot at . I don't see how Memphis is coing to be able to build a legit title contender over the next few years. They don't have a go to scorer to close out games , and can't see them putting together a package that would land them one without giving up Gasol. Plus Randolph is getting up there is age

Adding Gasol next to Sully would be amazing, dominant front court in the paint

I don't see to many other options than thos guys who are currently in the league.

My other realistic option would be Noah. He might want out if Rose isn't going to be the same .

Oh yea I forgot cousins , he would be my second choice , but likely won't be available for a few more years after signing that contract extension

1 Marc Gasol
2 Cousins
3 Noah

I like this Sullinger guy and think he'd be a good choice.
