K.C. Johnson ‏@KCJHoop
Rose just went to locker room and needed to be helped off by training staff. Put no weight on right leg.

Quote
He made a backdoor cut and stopped abruptly before his right leg gave out a bit. Rose got some treatment on the bench and the staff was looking at his knee before he went to the locker room with some assistance

UPDATE:

@KCJHoop: Per sources, Derrick Rose tore his right meniscus and will need surgery.

I know that's not what Bulls fans want to hear

Wow, I hope it's not too serious but this doesn't look good.

I hope not either. From what I read it was a non contact injury, he was making a backdoor cut and abruptly stopped. I hope it's not ACL related that would be awful.

Sounds like overcompensating for the injured knee.  Hope it's not bad but it sounds like it is.  Shame.

I know. I like Rose and I'd hate for him to have a Grant Hill like career that marred with significant injuries.

It's settled, then... keep Rondo out the entire season.

The guy is just reckless, I'm sorry.  Even more than young Dwayne Wade.  You know you're reckless when your injuries are non contact injuries.

I kind of knew things would never be thesame for Derrick Rose ever again, not because of his injury but the time he took off affected everything about him.

With this type of stuff happening to Rose, it's hard to not think about Rondo (even though they're different type of players) it just sucks to see someone that sat out from a season ending injury, possibly do it again on the other knee.

Seriously, though... Rose has sat out more than a year and his play so far this season has been horrible.  I have him on my fantasy team... he's been absolutely dreadful so far this season.  Shooting 36%.

Even prior to his injury, I felt like he was the most overrated MVP in NBA history.  At this point, the dude might be going Gilbert Arenas on us.  25 years old and he might never be the same.

Rose sat out over a year and chickened out on his team when his team needed him the most after he was declared to come back.

Rondo came back in a game where he dislocated his elbow to put away the Heat.

Sorry, can't compare the two on any level.  Competitors are different from competitors.

On Twitter it's reported that he walked out the locker room on crutches..doesn't sound good.

I'm not talking about toughness, I'm talking about possibly getting another injury while playing..nothing to do with their toughness.

About to feel the same after what happened to DRose
but Rondo and DRose play differently, Rose is more of a contact type player...

It's either rest him for the whole season or limit his minutes when he came back

If Rose tore his other ACL I think it would be hard for Rondo not to think that it could possibly happen to him too. Even though you try not to compare, when someones gone through the same injury you tend to kind of monitor how their progress is.

Dang Marc Gasol injured his knee tonight too, saying it might be a grade 2 MCL tear...this sucks
