well, just for the heck of it, let's introduce a few stats into this discussion. it might help us all assess KO a bit better, or at least differently.
here are the stats for KO in his first 10 nba games. sss caveat applies to say the least.
minutes = 23/game
fg% = 41.3%
rb = 5.6
asst = 1.8
pts = 8
here are the stats for sully's entire rookie season.
minutes = 19.5/game
fg% = 49.3%
rb = 5.9
asst = 0.8
pts = 6
not dramatically different are they, given that this is an itty bitty sss for KO?
the biggest difference is in fg%. but keep in mind that sully last year worked very close to the basket. KO in his 10 games has taken more outside shots than sully, which is part of his game. this might explain that difference.
KO had his worst games early on, which is not a surprise. he has improved in the last few games. i take this as a positive sign that his stats may very well raise and improve over the course of an entire season.
my conclusion? let's not make too profound a set of judgements on KO just yet. but from what little info we have, he looks fine so far on offense.
on defense? he is pretty much as advertised....not athletic enough to guard the super stars of the nba, but capable of providing solid, adequate, maybe even average team defense.
