the beauty of this draft is that it's just not Wiggins!  They are 6-7 guys that can drastically change the direction of a franchise....

How many drafts in nba history have contained 6-7 guys that dramatically changed the direction of a franchise? I don't think that's a reasonable statement. More like 2-3 such players (best case) although 6-7 are projected to.

First ones that spring to mind are 1984 and 1996. You could also say 2003.

Philly got lucky at the start, so will we at some point. We are not the worst.

IMHO power rankings have the Bobcats and Magic behind us but I disagree. They both have some vet presence with a ton of young talent including the 2nd and 4th pics. At least the Bobcats can score and the Magic have all those young guys breaking out this year plus who knows who will overpay to get Jameer Nelson.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

Until RR gets back I think we can be the worst team with ball movement which makes us one of the worst.   Until we win some folks,we are the worst.

You have an awfully low threshold for "drastically change the direction of a franchise".

And you're being very liberal with a phrase you have yet to define.

When you try and find any definition that 6-7 players in any draft fit it's going to resemble a mild nudge.

Sure. but in the '96 draft you've got Kobe, AI, Ray Allen, Steve Nash, and Ben Wallace--undrafted rookie signing-- as (mostly) indisputable "dramatic franchise altering players," and arguably you could add Peja, Jermaine, and Derek Fisher to that as guys who were Very Important to various teams' title contention. And Kyle Korver (and Kyle Korver's hair).

I'd agree, though, that best-case scenario is probably 6-7 All-Stars in any given draft class.

I'd put JO ahead of Ray, and I'll go out on a limb and say you'd get a good laugh out of anyone who hinted that Derek Fisher would be anywhere near a list of players that dramatically alter the direction of a franchise.

Id be happy with the #4 pick in the draft, You gotta think the Jazz will get a high pick and that they will draft Marcus Smart whereever they are...(Unless it's #1 overall)

-Rondo still on the bench, while Westbrook (who injured his knee 3 months after Rondo) is already back.

Are you serious!? Torn Meniscus vs. Torn ACL?

A guy who played when his arm broke in half.  Not the one to question on this kind of thing.

That team was getting crushed in the playoffs when Rondo was on the bench, much like the 2012 when KG sat and we put in Hollins or an injured Steimsma. If Doc thought we could have done better without Rondo he'd have benched him in a heartbeat.

Are we pretending that Antoine was not drafted in '96? I get that he wasn't Kobe, but he is certainly in Peja / JO territory.
