We aren't the worst team in the league.  I fully expect this team to get a top ten pick but unless we hit lottery gold, it won't be top five.

While the team has lost all three games, they have been competitive and continue to play hard.  Problem is, the team has not true PG on the roster (except for an undersized, undrafted rookie that is).

Once Rondo comes back, the team will be respectable and we'll end up with a pick closer to 10 than 5.

You could be right.  That's why most around the NBA think we'll take our time bringing back Rondo and trade him after he proves he's healthy.

I don't think we'll be at the bottom this year, but I think we're a lock for a Top 8 pick.  Even with Rondo, this team is garbage.  We'd find other ways to lose.

If we're not the worst team in the league, who holds that honor?

Also, I think we'll be better when Rondo comes back, but I'm not sure I'd use the term "respectable."

we need a top 3 pick this year. AT LEAST top 5. hopefully next year as well. I'm in this for the long haul. Get two nice stars to develop then trade some assets for a proven 3rd star. develop our young bigs and voila! This could take 5 years though but I'm in like flint on this ride.

No way I give up a top three pic to win a few lousy games at the end of the season.  Just as soon win 11 games as 33 games......at this point we are after assets , not wins.

When you dip down to the bottom, sure don't want to come up empty handed.

DA will have Bass and Green sitting if he is just a few games away from a top five pic.

Be absolutely stupid not to.

It doesn't matter WHO is the worse team,   Having the worst record is prime objective , play down to get where you need to be in the draft.

Given Danny's history, I think it's equally likely that he shops Rondo hard up until the deadline, but at an asking price that other GMs find too high. This has happened in the past with various players.

In that event I wouldn't be surprised if Rondo starts experiencing "tightness and swelling" in the knee, and gets shut down for the last 10-20 games of the year.

Wiggins may turn out to be head and shoulders above the rest, but at this point I see absolutely no difference between having pick number 2 and having pick number 5.  And depending how things go in the college season, there may be little difference between pick #2 and pick #7.

That will give me consolation when we start to win a few more games than I would like.

I don't think we are the worst team in the league, looking at some other rosters, we still have more talent. Our major issues is finishing games. Other than Wallace and Rondo we dont have veterans that can finish a team. This team also is playing with 2 rookie bigmen and for the first time in his career Jeff Green is the 1st option.

The name of the game is staying close and giving the team time to develop, especially Sully, Ollie, and Vitor. The mroe we lose in the 4th Q the more pingpong balls we get towards Wiggins, Smart, or any other stud.

Don't rush Rondo back - let the young guys take their lumps and grow.

if that lands us with a top three or top five pick - beautiful. I'm not real concerned with our record this yea, it's about young player development and assessment.

I disagree.

I think the Celtics, DA and Stevens are ALL IN on "tanking for Wiggins."

Think about it….

-Stevens doesn't play Humph ( I know this point is debatable because most think Bass is better but I believe BS is not playing Humph cuz he doesn't want us to win, IMO.)

-Jeff Green sits entire 4th quarter vs Detroit

-Gerald Wallace doesn't play the 4th quarter yesterday because of a sudden "knee injury."

-Rondo still on the bench, while Westbrook (who injured his knee 3 months after Rondo) is already back.

At first I didn't want to believe it….but now I think it's the case and I've almost sorta resigned myself to it: The Celts are playing "ping pong" this year, instead of basketball.

That's why I also feel a Rondo trade is coming at some point this season.

Here's my feelings: If we get Wiggins, it was worth it.

If we draft another player who doesn't pan out, Ainge will have some 'splanin to do.

My feeling is if you're going to be bad, then do it right and totally bottom out for the 1st pick.

Otherwise, I'd much rather the team do it's job and actually try to win games instead of getting a number 5-8 draft pick.

I still refuse to be on the tanking bandwagon...I rather see us play hard and lose than the "play hard, then lose the game so we get a higher pick" theory.

If we do get Wiggins, sure, but what if we don't?? Is DA going to make a repeat of 2007, and trade our picks and assets (not name Rondo)??
