  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
Bottom line... Ainge tanked this season the second he traded our best defensive player and best offensive player for future considerations.  I came to grips with the tank-job months ago.  I'm sorry that some folks are just now realizing the obvious.  If this mismatched group of role players manages to win 30 games, it's a massive over-achievement.

It'll sting for a few months, but long-term you're gonna love how this turns out.  Let this group of scrubs putter away to a 24 win season, get that top 8 pick... and then start building a competent team.   No brainer.

The team is not good enough to win, period. A lot if not everyone of the fans know that. Getting 24 wins is no surprise with the current squad.

What stings is being happy and excited about losing.

I guess it's really just me. But jeez, I can accept losing and accept the fact that we are not good enough but there's a silver lining into all of this. But I don't think I can root for my team to lose, and be happy and excited when they do. It feels cheap.

Not everyone knows it.

Believe me, everyone does.

This team can make the Playoffs if everyone played well. But this team cannot win past the 2nd round.

I guess that's what I meant by "not good enough". Optimism is great, but practically speaking, at best we are indeed an 8th - 7th seed.

I'm not buying it.  This team has got the talent to be in contention for a playoff spot by the end of the season.

I still think we'll end up winning at least 35 games.
Ha, Ha, very funny!  What evidence is there that this team will win more than 20 games???

When Rondo comes back, then we'll see. But I agree.

If Green just STOPS being passive and we get Bass, Wallace (sans the last turnover he made) and Vitor to play these kind of games, I think we're a competent team and can sneak in the 8th seed. Heck, I think even without Rondo we could win 30 games with this squad provided.

But right now most of the team are playing terrible. They got to turn it up.

I think Rondo will be back by the end of the month.  The team will probably still be pretty bad by then, but will have managed to scrape together a few wins.  Maybe, like 6 and 14.  They'll be looking a little more cohesive.  Rondo will take a few games to round into shape.  Once he does, this team will look fairly good for the last 60 to 70 percent of the season.

I misunderstood you.  I thought you meant everyone knows we are a 24 win team at best.

I agree with you that I don't see us finishing better than the 7th seed.

Currently we're a 20 game winning squad, because not only we are a little less talented, we are playing terrible.

But when Rondo comes back (in form), and we get an active Jeff Green, and Wallace, Vitor and Bass play the same, this team has the potential to win 30+ games. Good enough to maybe make the playoffs.

Some of my evidence is that I truly believe that Rondo will back either late in November or very, very early in December.  I think once he does, he will change the whole dynamic of this team.  This team is built to be a high pace, running team.  I believe this style will suit Rondo perfectly.  He'll get everybody involved.  We'll finally have someone who can make plays and set everybody up for easy looks.

I think that Kelly Olynyk will look much better in a month or so, and that his game will nicely complement what this team is trying to do.

Hopefully, Gerald will stop being such a meanie, and just keep balling, hustling and leading.  Along with Avery, Courtney, and Rondo on the wings, they'll be a nightmare for the opposition defensively.

Sully will figure out where he fits.

Jeff Green will keep running the break and getting easy buckets, in his gliding-to-the-rim-like-Worthy fashion.

Over all, I think they'll be fun to watch.  I think the young coach has a plan, and it will come to fruition with a little patience.

I don't know that I'd call any of this hard "evidence" as much as I'd call it a theory.  But, it's my theory, and I'm sticking to it.

I understand the tanking idea. I understand that like it or not we've already started down that road after the final game last year. My problem is this blind faith we have in these young kids we'll pick up. I don't see a MJ, Bird, Magic or LeBron in any of these kids in the next draft.  Even if we get the number one pick for the next two years this team will still stink to high heaven.

Sorry theories don't cut it.  You have to play defense and you need TALENT.  Otherwise you are totally correct.

I agree that you need talent and defense to win games.  I was trying to explain that I believe we have both.

We'll have to wait and see.  Although it may not be satisfactory to you, at least I've attempted to explain my reasoning for why I think this team can win 35 games.  You've failed to do the same.  Unless you think that simply mocking any conflicting opinion actually amounts to an argument of any kind.

All I can say is I'm sure glade I'm not Stevens and  have to deal with this mess,

I hope the team doesn't just come completely unglued .....still think DA tanked too deep,  too quick , especially throwing a new coach under the bus .....with rejects from the nets , Crawford and such..recipe for disaster

See how the wizards coaches and front office felt.........

Hope this boat can right itself

25  percent chance is better than no chance

Yeah, but math alone can´t predict the future.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

They played hard, it is hard to win with no PG.   Our half court offense stinks with AB at point.  He shot well but as fair as getting the team into it's sets he stinks.

I think we'll be a good team once Rondo returns.

We already have some good pieces, especially with Vitor up front.

When's the last time a rookie (?) Center for BOS has put up THOSE numbers in the Celtics' 1st home game of the season?

We're a better team than we've played so far.
