Wow,alot of u guys are grossly overating Hayward. Yes he's a good all-around player but he is far from elite on either side of the floor. There is no way we would trade Rondo for him. That is a horrible trade for us. Rondo is waaaay more valuable than Hayward. And considering how bad Were gong to be, i wouldn't give up the 2014 1st round pick for him. Hayward is a good player but he's not that good and he doesnt have all-star potential

Rondo and Lee for Hayward, Burke, and the Jazz's 2014 1st.

Cs can throw in the Brooklyn first from this year if necessary.

Utah is giving up way too much.  As good as Rondo is, he's not wort.h Hayward, who is a very solid player with the potential to put up a 19/5/5 line this season, Burke, who's been mostly disappointing but isn't without promise and a lottery pick.

You may be right.

That's the kind of haul it would take in a Rondo trade, though.

I'd say the Jazz would have to feel pretty good about keeping both of their young big men and pairing them with an elite passer like Rondo.

I actually think that's a completely fair swap.  In comparison: Jrue Holiday, whose only benefit over Rondo is that he has more upside (being younger and healthy), brought back the sixth pick in this year's draft and a top 5-protected pick in next year's draft.  That said, I don't think the trade makes any sense for Utah to do since they're rebuilding and this would be a "win now" kinda move that doesn't improve their immediate forecast to any appreciable effect, but I've already discussed that with you elsewhere.

It's more likely that Haywood be ones restricted free agent and the Cs pay him what he wants and Utah declines to match offer.

I don't see it as that much of a win-now move since their big men are just coming into their own, and Rondo should have another 5-6 years left of being an elite passer, whatever happens to the rest of his game.

I think they'd be set up with a competitive group there for the foreseeable future.  The only issue would be re-signing Rondo after next season, but I take Rondo to be the type of guy who wants stability and to be competitive more than he wants a spotlight in a big market.

I was actually talking to a co-worker about this the other day when I heard they hadn't extended yet.

I could see the Bulter connection, and also maybe thats why Boston jumped at KO knowing that Utah really liked him. Could give the C's leverage if Hayward wants to play for his former coach.

I would never do this.  Don't like Hayward at all, and no idea what the fascination is with himon this board.  He has shown me nothing special at all in what I've seen of him so fast.

ditto

personally, this explains everything:

basically he's the 3rd best player from the 2010 class

It says he has a per slightly better than Jordan Crawford.  Sign me up!!

Maybe every former star from a mid-major conference will want to sign to play under Stevens because they still have a chip on their shoulder from being disrespected and want vindication for small schools.

Well, okay, probably not, but it'd probably be a fun exercise in coming up with a hypothetical roster along those lines.

Unlikely to happens unless the celts offer him 10 millon a year. And dont think danny is going to shell out that kind of money either. So you get him through a trade, hopefully he still loves playing under stevens and accepts a hometown discount. Imo 7-8 million a year tops

$8M a year for Hayward? Seriously?

This is from the same forum in which people were unwilling to offer Demarcus Cousins, Al Jefferson or Josh Smith over $10M? Wow...

I'm not sure why you highlighted that while ignoring how it also says PER isn't necessarily the best indicator of productivity and goes on to show Hayward's value in terms of wins produced.  But I guess noting that doesn't really fit the whole "Hayward's nothing special" narrative.

Wow: Hayward is a projected 44 wins produced over 5 years, 44 more than Crawford!

And Avery Bradley projects just below DeMarcus Cousins in wins produced.

Very interesting.

I wonder if other teams fans think the same about jeff green or Brafley as some people here do of Hayward.

"Ainge won't even pick up the phone unless we are offering at least a bonafide all star!!"

Seriously what a joke of a thread. I guess Id consider mayne giving up bradley for him but that's about it. Hes an okay player with not a lot of upside. If you want him cause you think we are going to suck and don't really care anyway than I guess i see the fascination

I really, really disagree with you. Among promising wings in the league it's Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and then a but of a mosh pit between Hayward, Tobias Harris, and Harrison Barnes. Among those three, Hayward has been the best overall. He's the most versatile of all of them excepting George due to his passing and handle. Ton of room to grow, and a lot of it is just being assertive and getting the touches Al Jeff and Paul Millsap took as the focal points of the offense. Very promising player any team in the NBA would gladly try to find minutes for, especially with his ability to play the 2 or 3.
