Wojo just tweeted that the Jazz and Hayward are far apart on contract talks. Could the C's put a package to get him, something like Lee and Bass.  Stevens would prob love to have him.

I'd love to get him but I'm not sure how willing Utah would be to deal him for that

If you were Utah, would you take Lee and Bass for Hayward?

I'd like to have Hayward here, but the offer doesn't make a lot of sense for the Jazz.

Unless we are giving them Rondo or our 2014 pick, I don't see Utah being interested.

Lee has negative value right now IMO, and Bass' is probably pretty close to zero, particularly to a team like Utah that's rebuilding.

Maybe not that then. Do we have any pieces that you see working. Got to consider he would be a sign and trade

Any package to get him involves agreeing on draft considerations such as one or more picks, then negotiations about which players Utah has to take back as part of the deal and adjustments to the draft considerations based on the size/length of the contracts involved.

3 team trade.

hayward to boston
jerebko and brooks to utah add in the 2014 brooklyn pick
avery to detroit

detroit needs a sg. nice one. avery.
utah needs a sf to replace hayward, which jerebko CAN play
utah also gets brooks - a nice young player and the brooklyn pick.

if youre boston and you wouldnt do this trade, you arent evaluating haywards value properly. detroit may do it, and so would utah.

Agreed on Lee/Bass. Both have zero trade value.  Utah wants to apparently build their team around Hayward so if the C's want him, the price will be high. On the other hand if Hayward wants to come here and play for Stevens, that's a deal I would strongly consider doing.  He's definitely someone you can build a team around.

Salaries are not a difficult thing in this trade unless you're trying to salary dump.  Hayward doesn't make much money until after he's extended.

That said, if they're far enough apart where the Jazz would trade him, I'd be concerned at how much he's asking for.

If Hayward's intent is to force a trade, the way you do that is make an unreasonable salary demand.

How can Lee and Bass have negative value when Big Baby had value at over 6mil for 4 years to a team that's rebuilding?  And that's after shooting 39% for 4.9 points and 3.6 rebounds in 21min as the team's primary center during the playoffs.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Minimum would be the '14 #1 and one of their other #1's.  Rondo's probably too old for them.

You can perhaps get Hayward and a pick for Rondo. Bass and Lee, come on.

I don't suppose sending Jeff Green and a pick their way would work but I wish it would.
