made a darn good case for it tonight.  hump wouldn't be a horrible option as backup off the bench.

The thing is, now Vitor will play a lot more since he is showing some game late in the preseason. He needs the time to develop. I think Bass and Olynyk get all the backup minutes with Sullinger starting next to Vitor. That leaves Humphries on the bench unless and until someone gets hurt.

Really only enough minutes for 4 bigs and that is a stretch. Olynyk will get a share because they need him to develop. Bass will because he has to show value as trade bait. Vitor and Sullinger aint goin nowhere and they both need to develop. Kris Humphries has value as an expiring already.

I think he is really picking up the NBA  thing well ......as a rookie .....not bad,

Ron  will help him on Defense .....

Vitor is pretty athletic for his size. And not scard  to mix it up under the basket.

Vitor is showing some nice NBA. Basketball IQ on the court.,  he is new to USA, NBA, all new team mates , still playing with "confidence"

With more games and coaching under his belt .......this guy seems to get it..

I actually trust Vitor to shoot a three more than several of our.  "Shooting guards"

I'm pretty sure he will be the opening game starting center. Hump will be the backup.

Has there ever been a rookie of the year who wasn't drafted? Its obviously too early to project how well Vitor will play night in, night out. But it wasn't a good draft this year, quite possible.

He was draft eligible in 2009 I think and he didn't get picked because he was immature and lazy but he has improved a lot in Spain. His drafts scouting reports were very good.

I would like them to start

G: A.Bradley
G: C.Lee
F: J.Green
F: J.Sullinger
C: V.Faverani

With Gerald Wallace as the first sub in for Faverani 5-7 minutes into the first quarter with Sully sliding over to center and G-Wallace playing PF in a small lineup. Get more defensive quickness (Boston's main strength defensively) and floor spacing to better open up their (limited) offense.

When J.Green comes out, G.Wallace can slide back to SF with Olynyk coming in for J.Green. Humphries as backup center. Pressey and J.Crawford as backup guards. Bass as fifth big in the rotation. Bogans as fifth wing.

I'm not saying this is a bad idea, and I certainly don't have a better idea, but I do have a big problem with this idea.

Say Vitor plays C and Gerald plays 5 total minutes at PF for a combined total of 23 mpg.  That leaves a total of 73 minutes remaining at the PF and C positions (~18 mpg) for Sullinger, Bass, Humphries, and KO.  Two of which - Bass and Hump - are two of our more proven players who's trade value may fall if they aren't getting minutes and Sullinger and KO are two guys we need to give minutes to in order for them to improve.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
Yes I would.

With what he showed tonight, he looks like he's at worst a decent rim protector. He gives us length and a presence on the boards.

I would start him, he's the best Center we have. Better than playing PF Sully or Humphries at that spot.

Nobody as of now... the closest will be  Woody Sauldsberry, who was  Philadelphia Warriors (now the Golden State Warriors)'s 60th pick in the 1957 draft and won Rookie of the Year in 1958  ;D

That's ok.

Bass won't pay well enough to earn more minutes

Humphries needs to probe he is deserving of more minutes

Sullinger and olynyk wI'll foul or after 18 mins lol

What is the  argument against starting him?

If you want to tank?

Abso-freakin-lutely

He is our only legit center. I am sick of the Celtics style of playing undersized powerforward in the center slot. Get a center in there to start the game.

Let's translate this to English: Humphries sucks, but I hate Bass, therefore Humphries is deserving of more minutes.

Bass has played well enough to be part of the rotation Humphries hasn't.
