I'm saying yes all of the time, and that doesn't mean he has to play huge minutes.   I'm thinking maybe roughly 20 minutes a night.   He has shown me enough where I like him best as our starting center (not saying much I know).  He's crafty, smart, has some nice skills with both hands, nice touch, and solid defensively.   I've never been crazy about the Sully Bass pair together, but it seems like Stevens is leaning towards that.  Sully racks up fouls pretty quickly against opposing centers, and he is playing the position mostly by default.   I'd rather Sully start alongside Vitor at PF, his more natural position.

I think it's a myth somewhat that the league has gone small.  Look at most of the starting centers just in the eastern conference.

Brook Lopez
Tyson Chandler
Jonas Valanciounas
Joakim Noah
Andrew Bynum (when healthy ) Anderson Varejao probably for now
Andre Drummond
Roy Hibbert
Larry Sanders
Al Hortford
Al Jefferson
Chris Bosh
Nikola Vucevic
Emeka Okafor (when healthy) maybe Nene for now

The guys you might not consider true centers like Hortford, Jefferson, and Bosh can still slide over to the center spot much easier than Sully can IMO.

I think going undersized with our backups works a little better with Humphries, Bass, and KO playing mostly against other teams second units.   Like I mentioned you don't have to play Vitor huge minutes but just enough against other teams starting centers.  With Sully still racking up fouls quickly there should still be plenty of minutes to go around for the 3 backups.

What do you think?

For the beginning of season I would go with Humphries as starting center.  However later in season I can see Fav as a starting center as long as you put a bruising pf next to him.  Obviously we have 3 guys (or 4) to choose from as the roster currently stands, sully, bass, humphries and ko.
I really like his offensive low post game, his jump shot! and he appears to do a good job rebounding.  I think the main thing this year is coming up with the pairings and rotations for stevens.  Not easy as we have too many players for a position (pf) or too many guys on same level (sg??)

I voted "yes." Running Sully, KO, Hump or Bass out there as centers is a disaster waiting to happen.

I don't even think it's waiting. Stevens has tried all of the above so far, and the results have been nothing short of.

I voted yes, but I'm not sure if Coach Stevens will. He might give Sully minutes there, or Hump, who at least can bang a bit, still not nearly good enough. KO is too weak atm and Bass is an undersized PF who specializes in mid-range jump shots.

Vitor is starting to look like the best bet for starting C

Yes -- the team needs his physical presence at center to open games. He only needs 15-20mpg as a starter. Bench minutes. Just needs to get them at the start of halves rather than against backup bigs late in the first / early second.

I would like them to start

G: A.Bradley
G: C.Lee
F: J.Green
F: J.Sullinger
C: V.Faverani

With Gerald Wallace as the first sub in for Faverani 5-7 minutes into the first quarter with Sully sliding over to center and G-Wallace playing PF in a small lineup. Get more defensive quickness (Boston's main strength defensively) and floor spacing to better open up their (limited) offense.

When J.Green comes out, G.Wallace can slide back to SF with Olynyk coming in for J.Green. Humphries as backup center. Pressey and J.Crawford as backup guards. Bass as fifth big in the rotation. Bogans as fifth wing.

I agree with starting him and giving him Shaq/Sheed/JO-like minutes.

Can I ask why not?
I mean the dude has been playing consistently well in his limited minutes, rebounding at a good rate and providing size in the middle, which is pretty much exactly what we need.

I think as our bigs go he's somewhere around fourth or fifth best. I don't think his need to play outweighs the need of young guys to develop or the need to showcase Humph and Bass

I like him. Pleasant surprise.  Lease don't put sully at center.  He's a pf.

I would start Hump at the Center spot with Faverani coming in for 10-15 minutes per game.
