The sad part is outside of Rondo and maybe Sullinger there isn't much trade value in our guys.
Does Sullinger really have trade value?  At this point he's an obese bench warmer with chronic back trouble.  He's been pretty unimpressive this preseason.  I still think his best case scenario is an emotionally stable Glen Davis.

Because this team is completely devoid of talent, Sully should get a lot of minutes by default.  Hopefully he puts up some numbers and boosts his trade value.  I still see him as a long-term role player.  A Ryan Gomes type who can give you solid back-up minutes.

So when does Rondo get traded and what can we get for him if he is healthy?

Best case scenario we use Rondo to dump some bad contracts (Bass, Lee, Wallace) and pick up 1 or two young assets in the process.

I expect to see something like Rondo + Bass + Lee for Danny Granger's expiring contract, George Hill and a couple late 1st rounders.

You think Ainge would settle for late first's when Philly got a lottery pick and another projected one for Holiday?

Any young player on a rookie-scale contract who has a legitimate chance of becoming a decent starter has some trade value.  You might not be able to flip him for a mid-first round pick, but you'd get more than a second-rounder.

If the Celtics were to trade multiple firsts and salary ballast such as Humphries for a max-contract player, negotiation might involve the other team asking for Olynyk and Ainge insisting they take Sullinger instead.

This team is so underpowered ,   Wallace is looking like a Star.,  a guy the nets tossed aside like dirty laundry

I love my team.   But people need to wake up and see this team for what It really is.

Nice trade but Larry would not do it, I think.  He hangs up the phone.

It's a good point.  That Philly trade was INSANE.

Maybe they decide upgrading George Hill to Rondo would push them over the top.  You're probably right, though.

This is why I've never been enthusiastic about tanking.  I think things could get a lot worse before they get better.

... that's the whole point.  Lol.

Yes, things will get a lot worse before they get better.  We'll win less than 30 games.  It's going to be an awful season.  Our core will be built around guys who haven't even been drafted yet.  But heading forward we have a bunch of draft picks to look forward to.  In 5 years if everything goes as planned, we might make the playoffs and have a young team that can compete for an extended period.

Who cares??  It will be one bad year and then a top five pick and some trades and right back in the playoffs.  Stevens knew full well what he signed on for.

I care (lol.) I don't want to seen an awful team. See you all in October 2014 ;D

We have serious ping pong balls in our future.....long as DA keeps this hodge podge of bench players together ......I think unless Rondo comes back

This is going to be the way things go down this season., just need to suck it up and enjoy watching the rookies and wait for the draft.

The wins ....will really be sweet

Nice, I look forward to those 7 wins

trading away two hall of famers will tend to leave a team with some holes.

The team didn't necessarily have to get worse post-Paul and KG. That's on Ainge.
