I hope he does well for a basketball career.  But where does he fit if he doesn't fit on the lowly celtics this year?  He is big and a banger.  Doesn't have the one skill set that could make him a 3rd string nba center; defense, rebounding, shot blocking.
compare him to fav? greg stiemsma, jason collins etc

Hustle, toughness, meanness and rebounding.
sounds like he would be the 9th or 10th man in a 10 man rotation. fine as a back up center. he can take fav's place next year. neither one will make that big of a difference in terms of wins and losses.

Id take him over joel anthony lol

If you have nothing better to do - a complete game of Colton's team on Youtube - Beşiktaş Integral Forex - CAI Zaragoza (a good Spanish team)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=opl-JdPETYM

Colton played the whole 1st quarter and the first minutes of the 4th.

In his first stint - some defensive lapses, on a couple of occasions started fighting for rebound position too late. Managed to get his defender in foul trouble early. Active on offense early. Some poor back-to-the-basket possessions.

In my opinion, very positive second stint - rock solid screens, some very active defenses.

Right now, he is a bit taller, way younger and cheaper Joel Anthony.

Does anyone think he can improve his leaping ability? That is one big difference between him and say, Mason Plumlee. That would help him on D and as a finisher in P&R.

Unless you mean SL roster, I doubt it would really happen. He's an almost-25-year-old who's not showing much playing in Europe.

which is kinda what I was trying to go at. It didn't work out the first time, and he's not going to help this team next year.

I don't know what you mean with It didn't work out the first time, but I agree that provided Joel Anthony stays, I would rather use the roster spot in another way.

Regarding my interest in Colton, it is the hope that he can improve enough to be our 5th/insurance big. Danny obviously saw enough there to invest some peanuts. If we had Vitor stashed in Europe, I'd be equally interested.

Regarding his age, he is 24 and improved every single year since college. Lots of his current mistakes are lack of proper positioning - that could be improved.
