Hi everyone,

I am starting a topic just to keep you updated how Colton Iverson fares in Europe. Please, if we have someone in Istanbul actually attending the games (I am in Sofia, Bulgaria), give us a closed perspective.
The Turkish league just started - 1 game so far. Colton came off the bench to grab 11 rebounds (team high), 8 points (3/7, 2/4)and 6 TOs in 22 min of action. He was matched against Sean Williams.

1 game so far in the Eurocup - the second-tier tournament in Europe. Besiktas fell to Spartak Saint Petersburg at home. Colton played 25 min. mostly against a former Iowa State Jared Homan and protected the paint reasonably well.

Besiktas has no real C except for the 34 years old Ruzic, so I expect Colton to play a lot. European teams play PnR ball and he will have to learn how to defend it. He will not have top competition at the center spot on a daily basis though. The best starting centers in the Turkish league are Semih Erden and Furkan Aldemir, which I guess is still better then the D-league.

Y'all are laughing, but it's sad. I go home and deny the wing."

Thanks for the info, TP!

Are you able to watch these games, or just reporting the stats?

So far, just reporting. I tried to find a video of some of the matches, but no results so far.

I watched a game from a preseason tournament vs. Fenerbahce. Colton looked huge out there, but definately slow on defence. Different activity level then the one I saw at the Summer league. Probably just the fact that there is no defensive three-second violation in Europe. He still was voted "Best rebounder" of the tournament, though.

He's been listed as their starter, but as the 6 TOs suggest, he may have some adjusting to do to the league still.

But Sean Williams is a good guy for him to face and his early numbers sound promising.

Thanks, and please keep us posted!

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
