Looks like the dude needs to work on his FTs while he's over there.

Yep, FTs have been an issue, although not thaaat bad for a center. He is hovering around 50%, but his form is good and his midrange shooting has been ok.

I like the fact that he is playing good minutes. Their offence is very guard-centric and he is getting no more than 7-8 FG attempts a game, but I've seen some rock-solid screens so far.

He is what we saw at the SL - big body, good hustle, very good screens, good D on bigs, too slow when switched and as a weak side D. I still like him a lot and hope we will find a roster spot for him next year. One can never have too much true Cs

His big asset is his motor.   I think he went overseas but with the slump KO is having he might be playing instead of him over here.

krumeto, can you (or anyone else) explain how the last stat in the box score--RNK, which I'm taking to mean 'rank'--is calculated? It looks like the bigger and better his statistical contribution to the game, the better his number here, but I don't know how it is derived.

Oh, and it looks like he's recovering on his FTs nicely, at 13-16 since 11/30.

I believe it is the "index rating" (at least for Colton's stats RNK=PIR). It is confusing though. The EU sites have a way to go, compared to NBA stats, Basketball ref., etc...

The index rating is calculated as follows:

Index rating = (PTS + ASS + REB + BLK + STL + FLD + FT1M + FG2M + FG3M - TO - BLKA - FOULS - FT1A - FG2A - FG3A),

FLD=fouls drawn.

Colton's PIR is 3rd on his team and 26th among centers in the Eurocup.

I really, really like the kid, but I am not sure we will have a roster spot for him next year. Fav+dream FA/draft pick+some KO and JS and the rotation for the position is set.

 >:(Colton's team just got bumped out of the Eurocup after leading by 17 points in the first leg. In the 1/4 finals 2 games are played and in case of 1:1, point differential decides the winner. They lost by 24.

His playing time decreased in recent months. Besiktas are playing some 4 guards line-ups all the time. Pretty annoying and also hard to judge if he has developed his skills. I was also not able to see him guard big centers (the role I expect him to play with the Cs).

I cannot wait until the training camp and the summer league to see him play NBA basketball.

I hope he does well for a basketball career.  But where does he fit if he doesn't fit on the lowly celtics this year?  He is big and a banger.  Doesn't have the one skill set that could make him a 3rd string nba center; defense, rebounding, shot blocking.
compare him to fav? greg stiemsma, jason collins etc

sounds like he would be the 9th or 10th man in a 10 man rotation. fine as a back up center. he can take fav's place next year. neither one will make that big of a difference in terms of wins and losses.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Fav'll be on the roster next year.

But I'd rather pay an undrafted free agent than someone like Myles Plumlee.
