Also, who'd you compare them to? Olynyk has impressed me in the preseason and Sully is one of my favourite Celtics.

They'll be as good as Don Quixote and Sancho Pansa. They'll look the part, too.

way too soon to say. If I were to compare, I'd say Sully resembles Millsap and Olynyk is a poor man's Dirk. He's got the hair, and the three point shot

I'm usually the first one to rain on the optimistic projection parade, but I have high hopes for Sully. I could easily see him having a Horace Grant-type career.

KO is an unknown quantity to me.

Olynyk will either be a stud 6th man or starter for a long time to come imo.  But unless he can improve his rebounding skills, is not a big guy you can have out there alone.

I really like sullinger but without a post game, will likely be a player coming off the bench for the long term. Im not a fan of him not able to adj to score in his second year. He is still trying to go up on ppl and getting his shots blocked too often.

With sullingers improved low post game i thought the two could compliment each others game. But instead both are hanging around the perimeter on the offensive end. You dont mind if olynyk does but not sully

The future the way it looks to me is sullinger first big off the bench and we trade for or draft a skilled scoring/defending post player to start alongside oly

Sullinger: Milsap/Boozer hybrid

Olynyk: a taller Keith Van Horn

One guy id love to grab if he is not greedy for money and availble is greg monroe. Monroe and olynyk front court duo would be deadly.

Solid starters.

Always deadly to have two starting big men who combine for 1 block and change per game.

I think both have the potential to be long time solid starters with Sully having a shot at being a lower level allstar.

Sully, his ceiling to me is Zach Randolph/ Carlos Bozzer 20/10 type guy

Kelly, has such an uncommon skill set. Im going with Mehmet Okur meets current Boris Diaw. Okurs scoring ability and physical skills with Diaws rebounding and passing.Could see 15pts 6rb 3.5 assist type seasons in his prime.

Okur is an excellent comparison for Faverani imo

How many blocks did sa spurs team last year or those glory years bulls team have before??

Blocking shots is overrated vs playing solid positional d

Monroe can really rebound the ball , is a gifted passer like olynyk and has really developed a low post game the past year.

The reason why he doesnt click with drummond is that he neither of them can shoot the ball consistently out from the perimeter.(drummond is beyond bad)

The thing is though I believe Sully's passing ability is a little underrated, and he may have already passed those guys in terms of passing ability.  I think a poor man's Kevin Love might be a little more accurate especially if he continues to shoot some threes.

I'm sorry, what? Tim Duncan alone averaged 2.7 (!) blocks per game last season, and the Spurs were comfortably in the top half of the NBA as a team.

As for the Bulls, despite the fact that Medical Bill couldn't get off the ground much by the time he got to Chicago, I'd hazard a guess that between him and Horace Grant, there was more shot blocking to be found than you'll see from Monroe and Olynyk.

In short: yes, positional defense is important. But there's no understating the presence of a dominant or even semi-dominant shot blocker under the rim.
