he's a legit 7 footer with mobility and range who wants to hit people.
also impervious to trash talk as he doesn't speak English
what isn't there to like?

He can play.   He is an effort guy who bangs.   He has some skills.   He is 25 but has been a pro for 11 years overseas.   I peg him as a good backup center not a starter in terms of ability.

One thing I noticed about Stevens.   Performance does not affect playing time at least in the preseason.    Babb lights up NYC and almost gets a DNP next game.   Same is true of Vitor.   He played well against NYC first game and me and my son were awaiting him against Philly.    But Vitor and Babb did not get rewarded for playing hard and sat quite a while.
It doesn't matter for any coach in preseason. Preseason is about working guys out and getting team cohesive.

Babb played against d-league quality competition in first NYC game. That meant nothing. Look at the difference between summer league KO and preseason KO. This is because KO is playing against rotation guys in preseason.

At this point in preseason, there are a lot of guys on the roster and a few of them will be cut. Considering how much more practice there is during preseason, the coaching staff is already getting a pretty good feel for all the guys and for who will get cut. That will also impact the minutes doled out.

Every season every team has some guy that people get excited to see who doesn't even make the NBA.

Preseason games are glorified scrimmages. Guys are held out of games for the simple reason that the roster is larger. On a team like ours with so many new guys and a new coach, there may be even less consistency. Wait until the season starts before caring about minutes.

He needs to bulk up a bit but I see a nice potential in him like Pekovic.

He played very well against Pekovic tonite. I think we have seen Vitor play well enough the past two games to get at least a shot at starting our last pre season game at center.

Let Sullinger 'rest' and come off the bench.  :)

I am really liking what i see out of Fav, and other than language and getting to know his teammates and what Stevens wants, I see no reason why he could not ultimately start with this roster. I know folks are trying to be cautious, when they say second teamer, but he has shown me much more as a center, than anyone else on our team.

Tonight, he showed offensive touch, from the block, with both hands, and also has range. He has also shown himself willing to get at it defensively as well.

A line-up I'd like to see:: AB, Green, Wallace, KO, and Fav

Vitor held his own.  Pekovic is anything is too bulky and does not run the floor well.   Pekovic has no lift and he is a brick wall.   I think Vitor could use some strength but he doesn't need bulk.   We are looking for guys who can run.

He also looks like the mute kryptonian in Superman II.

He is far and away better than I dreamed .

And 100x more useful than Fab Melo

See he is a cheap ray of hope , a real backup big on a team of bench level power forwards

This team is just devoid of the talent level it will take to compete again ....for probably several years,  if Stevens pans out ,  if not it could be alot longer.....till good times are here again.

So hold on ........the crash landing is gonna really hurt  :'(

I like him, as long as he doesn't want to try to help the team win games or anything subversive like that.

His touch with his left hand has been pretty incredible. I don't think he's missed with his left hand yet and they haven't been bunnies either. He's the Brazilian Pau Gasol, well, with his left hand. I think all his right handed hook shots have been airballs.

He's been more than I could have imagined thus far even though it's only been preseason thus far. He's tough and skilled. I expected to see a guy make a ton of boneheaded turnovers and fouls based on his stats over in Spain but I haven't seen it yet. Maybe the lack of an all-out zone is helping him.

Vitor can play just as much as Stevens puts him in the games.

Have any other bigs actually played as well as him? Yet he gets fewer minutes than any of them.

I've seen him miss a horrific lefty shot in a recent game, so he has definitely missed.

If you imagine last season with Rondo and Sullinger uninjured and Fav instead of Fab, does that thought make you feel sad?

Imagine this season with Fab instead of Fav. What a disaster. He is a great find. He and Olynyk are both very mobile. In fact they need to settle down. In the NBA it is about positioning and have seen Fav and Olynyk take themselves out of plays by overplaying the ball and getting boxed out or abused by the other team. This is where Sullinger has figured out a way to use his quick feet to make up for his lack of mobility by being in the smart about positioning.
