I would have been thrilled if Avery Bradley could have been locked up for four years at $5million per. I doubt Danny offered him that much, though.
Once upon a time, I thought that once Bradley reached the end of his rookie deal, he'd have proven himself worthy of a deal similar to Marcus Thornton's (4 years, 30 million).
As it stands now, I don't think Bradley is really worthy of Shannon Brown money (2 years, $7 million).
Finding a salary comparison for Bradley is difficult because guards who can't score tend to bounce around the league a lot. Derek Fisher is the only guy I can think of who kept a consistent gig, and that was mainly because he fit the triangle well and got along with Kobe. Also, the clutch threes in the playoffs.
I'd offer Avery 3 years $10 million, with incentive bonuses that could get it as high as $12 million (e.g. games played, All-Star game, All-Defense).
As I said before, I think it makes the most sense for both parties to wait until after the season. If Avery starts the entire season, shows improvement, stays healthy, and averages double digit points on at least 42/35/75 shooting, along with his trademark defense, I could see him earning that 4 year / 20 million deal, or something close to it.
