If Rasheed Wallace wasn't fat, lazy, and out of shape all season, that Game 7 would have been in Boston.

Except there wouldn't have been a Game 7.

This is just not true.  We stunk in the regular season, and Rasheed Wallace would not have lead us to a better record than the Lakers.

23-5 to start the season then went 27-27 to finish it.

Right and the Lakers won 57 games.  Is Wallace supposed to win us 8 more games as the 5th option??

I think Perkins going down in game 6 of the 2010 finals cost us a banner.

But the following year, we were playing some of our "very best" basketball before Perkins came back alter in the season.

Shaq playing 10-15 minutes a night was more than enough. Unfortunately Shaq got injured - a guy who had never suffered a "serious" injury his entire carer.

I like Jeff Green - I think he's far more valuable than Kendrick Perkins - then and now. Having a hobbled Perkins still would have been no guarantee that we win the title. To be honest I thought it was more of a mistake to trade Semih Erden "as well as" Perkins.

That team just needed a big, active, physical body in the middle for 15-20 minutes a night. The talent and the winning still lay heavily with KG, Pierce, Ray and Rondo.

For me the fact that we didn't replace the tough guys we lost was more important than the fact that we lost them.

We could have replaced:
Posey with Matt Barnes
Powe with Reggie Evans
Perkins with Aaron Gray
Etc...

When you have a core of KG, Pierce, Ray and Rondo, guys like Perkins, Posey & TAllen, the tough guy, glue guy types are interchangeable.

But you actually "do have to replace them" if you're going to let them go...

TAllen with another tough defender

Maybe.  Wallace seemed to have a huge negative impact on the culture of that team.

In my recollection, almost every player and coach had nothing but good things to say about Wallace as a locker room guy.  Historically he's always been considered a great teammate.  Why do you feel he affected the culture negatively!?

Lots of people credit him using the regular season to get into game shape as the reason the Celtics seemed to adopt a "turn it on when you need to, coast when you don't" attitude during the regular season.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

Yes I understand that, but I am asking if there is a particular quote from a player or coach you are referring to, or is this just speculation on the part of fans?

Besides, even if this were true, it kind of worked out didn't it?  We got to game 7 of the NBA finals.
