Tim Tebow is now an ex-Patriot.  Cut this morning.

Next stop....Montreal Alouettes. (Or Jacksonville if they want to pad ticket sales)

  • No no no, not THAT "Eric M Van".
"Because there are no fours."

"We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees."

One thing I find subtly funny is that this must be pretty embarrassing for Skip Bayless, but also today...Jimmy Claussen was cut. I seem to remember Mel Kiper saying if he was wrong about Claussen he'd quit, and gave himself like an 8 year window

The decline of Tim Tebow?

That implies he had somewhere to decline from.  From what I saw of him, he wasn't very good from the get go

Good kid.  Had a nice little run in 2011 that was a bit of a mirage which was entertaining.

Just not an NFL caliber QB.

He was a nice diversion from the Hernandez drama this pre-season but his fans had no business thinking he was actually going to make this team. He is just not an NFL quarterback.

I don't know, he performed about as well as you'd expect from a typical third-string QB. The Pats just don't usually carry a third QB unless it's a development guy--and Tebow's an old man as far as development guys go.

I was at a patriots preseason game and ill give us credit as fans. Basically everybody was hoping for the best with the kid but was pretty realistic that he sucked. Were not disillusioned like some other teams. Fans reaction might be that it sucks he got cut but nobody questions the decision.

which is why he should have moved to h-back or TE.  He is big and quick.  If his hands are even decent he could easily be a contributor in that role on a team.  I just think he has too much pride and ego for him to actually do it.
