Okc takes Ricky Rubio
This is a really strong pick for this team. Rubio/Green/Howard is an intriguing trio.

(Insert jab related to Rubio's health record)

Yeah, but the D12 / Rubio combo somehow made it to the conference finals last year, so at least there's a track record there.

Hmm, that's odd.

I like Rubio a lot as a player and feel he's a bit underrated, but I'd want a PG who can shoot a bit better playing off Howard.

I agree with this. Rubio/Howard is not a good pairing.

I disagree.  Having two stationary big men is almost conceding any chance of playoff success against teams with mobile front lines.

As I said earlier, if the 2010 Celtics made Shaq look good at defense, then Big Al can look fine as a defensive center.  You just need to commit to a strong, mobile defensive power forward, and have some good defensive wings.  A team like that can beat anybody.  Gortat / Big Al, on the other hand, just creates problems and question marks.

I think BATF should look for a trade to bring a bit better balance.  He's got two nice players who would play horribly next to one another.

Again, I'm not saying having Al/Gortat is the best situation to be in. But I'd much rather have the issue of having those two big men over some other issues his team would be faced with if he kept Al at center.

I love Rubio and Dwight together just like I loved the idea of Rondo and Dwight together.

I think Rubio's passing ability is going to be insanely difficult to contain in the pick and roll with Dwight as a screener and surrounded by shooters.

I wouldn't be worried about Rubio's lack of shooting. I would worried about the shooting ability of 2 through 4. My two guard and my two forwards. So long as those guys are good shooters, Rubio's lack of a jumper doesn't worry me. If those guys are bad shooters, problems can compound quickly and become problematic. But by themselves, Rubio and Dwight should be able to work very well together.

Kanter and Hayward are two names I was not expecting this round but so were Butler, Beal and Granger. I had all 5 as 4th rounders.

I drafted Granger and won't argue. Very few picks I liked this round.

Speaking of PnR, wouldn't Rubio's man simply go under the screen and sag back on Howard? Essentially jamming Howard up

A little point guard defending Dwight? That is a problem?

That sounds like a good thing to me.

Houston Rockets will move Big Al to his natural power forward position and take Marcin Gortat

Ugh... This guy is too good.

I'm not sure about making Big Al a power forward, but I do like Gortat.

What I worry about is having too big men, neither of whom is tremendously mobile.  The idea of Big Al chasing around guys on the perimeter makes scares me.
Imagine Houston having to match up against Portland and Big Al having to cover Carmelo. WOW!!!

And vice versa.
I would be more afraid of Melo dropping up to 60 or more on Big Al than Jefferson getting anywhere near 40 on Anthony.

I feel ya and can't argue that.

Gortat should protect the rim. They could go zone.

Portland is its worst enemy tho with joe Johnson plus Carmelo. That has ball stopping isolation ball written all over it. Don't like that pairing at all. Joe struggled with deron and deron us way more of a facilitator then melo.

Only worse thing Portland could do is hire mike Woodson.

Ilyasova is a great pick. Not sure why Milwaukee went with Anderson, when Ersan is younger and more productive across the board.

Dude takes his sweet time getting hot during the season, but when he does, this dude is a monster - Kevin Love lite. Excellent pick and he should be a great complement to CP3 and Pek. Will you play him at SF or PF?

Arghh was hoping he would continue to get overlooked (although he would be a luxury off our bench)

Illy is a terrific stretch 4 who often gets underrated. Unlike most stretch 4's he's a tough and gritty player who hits the glass hard and continually shoots sub 40% from 3pt despite not working with much of a post presence.
