TRADE
Phoenix sends: Jimmy Butler, 12.17, 13.9
Philadelphia sends: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, 8.9, 8.10
That seems incredibly unrepentantly lopsided to me. Jimmy Butler was a difference maker last season for the Bulls, MKG was a net negative. Sessions is okay, Birdman is okay, but its a homerun for Philly in my mind.
A "net negative" might be overstating things a bit. 9 points, 6 rebounds, 46% FG% and a rookie of the month award for a struggling rookie isn't a "net negative", especially when the player in question is 19 years old.
I'm saying the SF with the broken (29.4%) jumpshot, that allows more points than he scores, and isn't particularly good at defending isn't a guy I'd accept back as a headliner for a guy who consistently outperformed starters at 2 different positions in his first season as a rotation player.
MKG can get a lot better, but he doesn't seem like a smart bet to make a big leap forward next year. I've been wrong before though.
