Don't have league pass but if they are ever on tv and I am home or if they are on at a bar I'm at I will watch with great interest.

Yup. Will watch them as often as the situation presents itself.

As many as possible.  I like how KG and Pierce play the game, and the Nets should be a very interesting team next year.

With coaching being their biggest hole.  Probably the only hole in their game.  As stacked as they are, I don't see Jason Kidd utilizing them well due to inexperience

I'll watch a good amount of them. Of course I'll watch when they play tha C's. And I'll watch or be at tha Toyota Center whenever they play tha Rockets along with tha ESPN/TNT games against tha Knicks or Heat and playoff games.

That's why they've got Lawrence Frank and the other coaches to draw up the plays. I see Kidd as being going to be a lockerroom peacemaker and minutes-watcher, as well as being able to communicate very well with his team (and probably very good at anticipating the other team's plays and trains of thought out of timeouts on offense and defense).

I have a more confidence in Kidd. Few guys as players got teammates as involved as Kidd did. He had an amazing feel for teammates as a player. Rondo may make incredible passes, but he doesn't involve teammates like Kidd did.

I suspect Kidd has a great intuitive feel for what players bring to the table in the flow of a game. Kidd also played good team defense. If someone is sufficiently gifted at understanding the game, I don't see why they could go straight from the NBA to coaching.

Guys with basketball minds, like Bird, for example, don't need an apprenticeship. They can just step right in.

I didn't know being a fan of a particular team precluded you from having an interest and watching other teams?

That said, I will probably watch a good number of games especially the big ones on national tv. Can't wait to see them play the heat. Opening night maybe?
Well to be clear. I watch the Celtics as my team. I watch other NBA basketball if so inclined and if the game interests me or if there is nothing else on(like a Bruins game or college basketball game, because I do love watching college basketball).

But I think the OP was implicitly asking whether people would change their NBA viewing habits to go out of their way to watch the Nets because KG and Pierce are there.

And my answer to that is no. I won't watch the Nets any more or less than I ever have which means, I will watch them when they play the Celtics and if they are on television and I am not watching something that would hold my attention more. But I am not going to go out of my way to watch Nets basketball simply because they have two former Celtics playing for them.

Unless it is Boston versus Brooklyn, I won't go out of my way to watch any Nets games this upcoming season.  There may be a time I am channel surfing and perhaps come across a nationally televised game and check out a few minutes of, say, the 3rd quarter, but I won't be marking my calendar or anything to that effect...If I had to put a number range on it, I'd say 4-8.

Considering they are a local team that has my two favorite players on it, it will be easy for me to catch a lot of them. I may even DVR some that I am not home for.

That's how I interpreted the OP as well, Nick, and to each his own.

I'm still far from over seeing KG and Paul traded, and at this point, I just don't feel like seeing them in any jersey other than a Celtic's jersey.

Call me rigid or immutable or whatever, I'm just not in that spot yet.

I assume it will one day not affect me in the same way, but for now I make no apologies for my reluctance to see my two heroes playing for the Brooklyn Nets.

As I said, to each his own, though time heals all wounds ... I'm told. ;)

You're the doctor so you should know my friend!  ;D

I wonder if it has something to do with age. I know my sons are all 19+ and are more fans of players at times than fans of teams while I have always been a team first guy and when players have left the teams I have followed, I stopped caring about them. I also wonder how much the proliferation of fantasy basketball accounts for such things.

Oh well. TP Bahku.

I am the opposite.  While I follow the team first, I always seem to get overly attached to certain players and styles of play...and tend to follow (at least keep interest in) the player and new team.  I don't watch every game, like I do the Celtics, but I will keep track the Nets and the Clippers, out of the corner of my eye.  Once I am attached to a player, I can't easily drop them.
