What about zbo. Really that good defensively? The guy still looks out of shape.
If he can be a good nba defender utilizing his iq, motor more than anything so can sully and olynyk.
You can look out of shape but still be a good defender.
It's not about sheer speed in the NBA. The fastest players (sprinting) aren't always the best defenders. It's the quickest player.
Randolph moves his feet quickly, and is one of the NBA's best at positioning his body to give him the advantage.
Thank you. Hence olynyk and sully can be just as good. They are both smart and good at moving their feet.
How many times did sully get burnt last year in the 2nd half? When he was on the floor we were a plus team and it was no fluke. Not the best example for now but when olynyk was on the floor in the summer leagur games , we were on the plus side and some games he only scored 12 pts. Its the "impact" they can bring to the table.
So my question was what could happen if you now add them together on the court. So two pluses will turn into a minus?
The nba only has several standout defenders and others are mediocre or above avg. The mediocre ones are lazy, not smart and can only guard their man. The above avg ones cheat help without getting burnt, analyze tendencies, prevent their man from going right or take away space to shoot bc they cant drive.
Sully and olynyk have very good iq, motor, competitiveness to be good defenders in the nba. Wont b exactly like zbo/gasol but a "system" of something like them as they have lack of great athleticism or quickness in common
