As good? Absolutely not. However, I think they will work together in similar ways that Z-Bo and Gasol do. If our duo turns out to be a poor man's Z-Bo and Gasol I will be ecstatic.

Sullinger has a good defensive rating but Kelly has always been known for having weak D.

Kelly is still a rookie, too early to tell. But I will take it if they can develop like them...with Rondo being in his prime and Green being the primary scorer (I hope)...I like where this team is going

As good zbo and gasol are by themselves without allen and conley they r prob in trouble with pnr etc. Luckily we have rondo and allen in the backcourt also. someone also mentioned b4 oly and sully could be more like milsap/jefferson(which is worse case imo) or more likely case boozer/okur

A good defensive big alongside those two, like Asik, would give us a monster frontcourt. Even if you project quite modestly.

I don't see either Sully or KO ever being as good defensively as Gasol.  KO might one day be able to score as prolifically (though probably not in quite the same way) as Z-Bo.  That's a pretty lofty goal, though.

Ultimately I think if we hold onto Sully and KO long-term one of them will be the sixth man coming off the bench and the other will be starting next to a bigger, longer, more athletic center who can anchor the defense.

I am not sure about the 6th man part or not (it depeonds on how good his offense ends up being), but you are right about his defense.  I think he can be a solid enough team defender, using his intelligence.  But, he just doesn't have the physical attributes to be an above average overall defender.  He is not quick enough on the perimeter, and he is not long, or strong enough inside.

No one said that, I just think the zbo/gasol comparison is terrible.

Marc was always known as a banger and has the body of a good defender.

He's a strong physical guy who is [dang] near 260-270, with a solid wingspan and pretty good feet on the defensive end.

KO is 235, with t-rex arms and decent mobility. Now if he becomes as good as Gasol, i will be ecstatic, but i'm not holding my breath.
