15-18 min , 8 pts, 5-6 rebounds a few blocks is very good stats for a backup C. Prob about the same Humphries will give us, except a few more points and rebounds.

In the end Sully and Olynyk with their iq's and motor will be playing the majority of the minutes together i predict

He's never averaged more than 18 minutes per.  What makes you think he's playing 40 minutes?

As I said, he's competing for the backup role....10-20 minutes.

You implied his per 48 Numbers were astounding they are not.  I direct quoted that from your original post.

Those per 48 numbers are off the charts.

The only thing off the chart is the Big East bias of some here.

This could mean Shav is sent packing. But I think Melo will be sent to D league.  Iverson outplayed him in terms of PER in summer league and shows effort every play something I can't say of Fab.

Fab Melo: "My agent says that he saw a post in Celticsblog that I was signed for another 3 years, Wooo hoooo"

Agent: "Fab, I misread the blogpost, it reads that the Cs hired another Brazilian Center - Veetor Faveroti or something like that"

Fab Melo: "Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.?, I had good showing een Summer Leeg"

Agent: "Sorry Fab my boy, I decided to be Veetor's agent, and am gonna miss u"

I figure this guy in the long run will contribute much more than Oden will in the NBA. I see Oden going the way of Brandon Roy or worse.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I am looking forward to seeing this guy play. I think he could give the team useful minutes this year. The Celtics currently have nobody with his size + bulk at the center position. Just from a physical standpoint, I think he'll offer the team something different and useful.
Who's got a link to some of his recent highlights or whatever?

Vitor Feverani's three-year deal with the Celtics is worth $6 million, a source told Y! Sports.

he's got some nice post moves too. Him and Sullinger together may be able to abuse some teams inside.

$900K guaranteed this year, every other year is non-guaranteed. Very cheap, low-risk move by Ainge.

Not sure if anyone in the 5-6 pages of this thread had mentioned something along these lines, but perhaps signing him has a dual purpose.

He's obviously cheap and 7ft tall. Could be of some use for us on the court.

But maybe the other side of the deal is that he's going to be a good influence on Melo? Someone to live with/near and practice against everyday and help develop. Fab seems a bit sensitive at times and Faverani is a bit older, should be more mature. PURE speculation on my part, but Isn't it possible that Barbosa had said to Danny last year "you should look at brining Vito over at some point if you can. he's a decent player, but he would also serve as a great mentor to Fab, Fab really looks up to him and Vito would have a great influence on him?"
