so do those people here who kept insisting he was just a camp invite still think so?
Could still be, 3 year deal doesn't have to be big committment.
We've signed players before on multiple year contracts that are not guaranteed.

Since it was reported that a buyout was necessary to bring him to the NBA, I think it is reasonable to expect that the Celtics wouldn't spend that money unless they were willing to commit to him for at least a year.

Lol beat me to it!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Read this profile of him if you got a sec. Sounds like an awesome player.

Danny im sure knows what he is doing here. Prob scouted him as far back as he was scouting stevens.

This likely means melo is gone

Why? Does the NBA have a quota on Brazilians? Should be popular in Everett

We haven't signed Iverson yet.  I bet he's going to Europe for a year or two.  While Faverani doesn't have to be guaranteed, I bet he will be for most of it, as I believe he had a relatively expensive buy-out (the translation may have been poor, but I saw a spanish website that said 1 million.)  The Celtics can only pay $500k before it counts against their salary cap.  I find it unlikely the Celtics would pay that much in a buyout, including taking on the salary cap hit for the excess buyout, if he weren't going to be largely guaranteed.

I'll be...peeved with Danny if he sends CI to Europe.

I hope Danny sends Melo packing; Faverani and Iverson look better.

yeah looked at this, sounded good. the video show him shooting threes.
i have no idea how to correlate these videos w actually being able to play in NBA but he doesn't look like a stiff.

curious to see what danny thinks. if he could actually play that would be nice! him and KO as rookies could be interesting.

Its all an experiment still. But i think of it this way, we got three excellent youngsters up front. One of humphries or bass will stay and prob iverson as 3rd string.

I understand why some don't like parts of his game, but Crawford is a productive player.  I'd like him on the roster.

i think it will come down to a choice between crawford and brooke in ainge's mind. both would be expected to fill a similar role - offense off the bench.

right now, crawford is the more complete player, but that is not saying alot. but potential and upside may be important to ainge now. crawford is pretty much what he is and i dont think additional coaching will transform his game.

ainge may think that brooke is still young enough to learn and expand his game.

it will be an interesting choice for ainge, not sure which way he will go.

oooops! sorry folks, didnt mean to highjack the faverani thread.

in any case, perhaps the celtics will go into camp with 3 rookie centers - melo, faverani, and iverson. let them play and then decide who stays and who goes.
