This is definitive proof that Doc's love of small ball was crippling Ainge's personnel decisions.

Our starting lineup next year will be:

C   Vitor Faverani
PF  Colton Iverson
SF  Fab Melo
SG  Shav Randolph
PG  Kelly Olynyk

so do those people here who kept insisting he was just a camp invite still think so?
Could still be, 3 year deal doesn't have to be big committment.
We've signed players before on multiple year contracts that are not guaranteed.

We haven't signed Iverson yet.  I bet he's going to Europe for a year or two.  While Faverani doesn't have to be guaranteed, I bet he will be for most of it, as I believe he had a relatively expensive buy-out (the translation may have been poor, but I saw a spanish website that said 1 million.)  The Celtics can only pay $500k before it counts against their salary cap.  I find it unlikely the Celtics would pay that much in a buyout, including taking on the salary cap hit for the excess buyout, if he weren't going to be largely guaranteed.

I'll be...peeved with Danny if he sends CI to Europe.

I wouldn't. I'd rather he play in Europe for a year or two  and then come back over here when his playing time won't be blocked by Humphries and Bass.  Let him actually get in the game instead of rot on the bench, wasting the cheaper years of his rookie contract.

I mean, if one of those two can get moved this offseason, then Iverson can absolutely stay in my book.  But I think they're both going to get a lot of playing time at least until the trade deadline to showcase for trades.  With this new center plus Sully and Olynyk, it doesn't even matter if Melo spends the season in the D-league -- there's just no room for Iverson this year.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Yeah, I never understood Doc's hatred of D-league big men.

Really hope Pressey and Iverson are on the roster.  Not sure how this all works out.
We're at 17 without Joseph at this point. Randolph is on a non-guaranteed deal.

To me this means that we'll end up cutting two from the lot of Pressey, Iverson, Faverani, Randolph, and perhaps Bogans (depending on how his contract is structured).

I think it's more likely that we dump Crawford and Melo on somebody.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

I'd be shocked if we can get anything for this package.

I like the signing.  He is miles beyond Melo
