ive stated the fact of trading rondo for our future all star center in Drummond, but i would like to see what you guys think of acquiring Brandon Jennings. If so wouldnt rondo be even more xpendable for us. Obviously rondo, is a much better point gaurd, but i could see Jennings being a championship point gaurd. He is a much better point gaurd, then the last 4 NBA championship Point guards.

edit:

also not to mention, imagine a starting 5 of

Jennings
jeff green or shooter/ avery
Wiggins
Olynyk
Drummond

thats 4 shooters surronding drummond, if we can develop him into a dominant low post player, guy is only 19 turning 20 with so much upside and athleticism. Not to mention obviously Wiggins is the next Durant in my view. with jeff green being a 3rd or 4th option and Jennings to just run the offense and hit 3s. That is a championship team im sorry. I didnt even mention our dirk nowitzki in Olynyk.

Aside from the obvious point that we don't have Wiggins, Olynik is no Dirk. And sure, you can win a title with any pg, all you need is a LeBron/Wade or Kobe/Gasol in their primes. I love all the posts that assemble most of a title team, all that's missing is a couple of superstars in their prime.

Why not Brandon Jennings? Because it takes him 25 shots to get 20 points.  :-\

Here's an interesting article on Jennings.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1595291-milwaukee-bucks-have-no-choice-but-to-cut-the-cord-with-brandon-jennings
Great article, thanks for the link.

Quote
Several weeks ago, Jennings was held scoreless in a 100-92 loss against the Philadelphia 76ers. In that loss, he was benched during the fourth quarter.

After the game, he made sure to let the media know he wasn't happy about it (via ESPN):

"I don't see any All-Stars in this locker room," Jennings said.
Yeah, pass.

I think I'd rather have Jeremy Lin, who would at least draw Asian fans to follow the Celtics.

Exactly. And it seems like all we have to do is get rid of Rondo, who is the only guy we actually have who is even close to being a superstar in his prime.

Awful idea. Simply terrible. Will NEVER be a top 2 player on a title team whereas Rondo can be. You would pay a lot of money to a me-first gunner with a terrible attitude who does not come close to making the players around him better.

If you are going to trade Rondo, you HAVE to get a "top 2 player on a title team" player or potential player. Jennings is not that and is actually far far worse.

Maybe as a backup combo guard at a backup price

For someone like Brandon Jennings whose game relies on his confidence, which is definitely a good thing especially if a player is good. He's going to ask for more than 8 mil, and will never be a back up combo guard.

So I guess your answer is never?
Yeah pretty much. He's a terrible shooter, managed only 6.5 assists on a team with multiple offensive options, doesn't rebound that great, and I have doubts about his defense.

He's also immature. I mean we said the same thing about Rondo, but its not like he openly goes to say negative things about the organization.

I remember Jennings posted a tweet disgracing his coach for benching him, and calling a time out. Saying there isn't any 12 pt plays! Basically called him an idiot, and to me alone is something I'd avoid..

You don't need someone like that in the locker room, especially a re-building one.

I don't get why hes complaining so much... He was drafted as a lottery pick by the Bucks, and been groomed, etc.

He got a starting job at a young age, that most PG's don't. Now he's making fun and poking fingers at the same organization that treats him with respect? I guess I can see Boylan not really liking him... But he does too much dumb things in the 4th quarter, like chucking shots, turn overs, and just playing sloppy defense..

Pass.

Pass.

Oh wait.

Like someone mentioned in another thread, if Milwaukee agreed to something like Rondo, Lee and either Bass or Wallace for Jennings, Sanders, Ilyasova and a 2014 1st, I would do it.

I never thought of it that way either until you mentioned "backup combo guard".

Same.

Not sure if the Bucks would do it. Maybe if they kept Ilyasova or Sanders. But they'd have to throw in another young prospect.

Now that I've thought about it for 5 secs, Ainge probably won't either. It's easy to have a knee jerk reaction and jump into deals as a fan.

I was enticed by the 2014 pick but Monroe or Drummond would be more of a sure thing. We'd be throwing away more of the certainty we have left for a shot at the crapshoot that is a draft pick.

I Dont understand you guys, i clearly already stated IF RONDO GETS TRADED, im not saying to trade rondo and sign BJ, im saying if we go the route to trade rondo, then i would say this would be our best bet, and a starting 5 of

bj
jg
wiggins or parker
olynyk
drummond

would be a great future, and imo alot better than having a 40 year old kg and a 40 year old pierce.

keep in mind i love rondo and love pierce and kevin garnett is a role model in life to me love all three of em

I would've really dug Brandon Jennings on the squad last year after Rondo went down-- I suspect playing with guys like KG and Pierce would've done wonders for his game.

This year? Not so much.

Cs can trade Rondo only if he will come back showing total recuperation. Till than there is no team that can gamble money into one injured player.
