The original report

Quote
The Pistons are quite interested in Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo, but they don’t have a package to offer that would attract president of basketball operations Danny Ainge to making a deal. The Celtics would presumably ask for emerging center Andre Drummond, who is as close to untouchable as a younger player can get. Detroit would like to send the Celtics Brandon Knight and an expiring contract, but that wouldn’t be nearly enough. Detroit doesn’t have a first-round pick to offer because of the Ben Gordon deal that gave the Bobcats the choice of a Pistons draft pick over the next four seasons

All educated guesses from the author.

Absurd. Unless the offer includes Drummond or Monroe, there's nothing to talk about. But I'd add that if their offer does move up to include either, i'd expect a deal to get done swiftly.

I also think the Cs are listening if the Pistons would package up the expirings of CV and Stuckey for significant salary relief for Boston in addition to Knight.

If I where Ainge, I would counter with Melo, Humphries, and the clippers 2015 1st for Drummond and Knight.

What a downright offensive offer, they should be ashamed. It's basically asking us to give Rondo to them for crap because they feel he would be a good fit for their team. Yea, why don't you give us Drummond for crap, he would be a great fit on our team as well.

Drummond or you don't listen to them, in my opinion.

I think Danny wants talent for Rondo, not salary relief.

Unless he's way more sold on Knight than anyone else I don't see how a package where he's the best asset works for the C's.

I agree 100%. does Dumars think DA is stupid?

I'll take one of their bigs, Knight and an expiring for Rondo, Wallace and Melo.

Yep. It's not like Detroit would be able to get a talented player like Rondo anywhere else.

Well I don't see a match because if I'm Detroit, I'm not giving up Drummond or Monroe for rondo.  You don't trade young bigs for older small players.

I am firmly in the do NOT trade Rondo Camp. That kid is something special, the way he see's the game and all of it's angles cannot be taught. Not to mention I am also in the Steven's is a perfect coach for Rondo. They both have very analytical minds with exceptionally high bball IQ.

I do not think we are tanking. And there is no way you should Rondo for peanuts.

Counter offer with Melo and Humphries for Drummond and Monroe and Josh Smith and Brandon Knight plus 2 future first round picks.

Get out of here Detroit.
