It probably is too much for Drummond but it's the only way Detroit would part with him. Bass has no future with this team and a future pick will hopefully be late first round if this draft goes well. So really it's Rondo for Drummond straight up. Drummond is so young and, As I mentioned, they need a shot blocking, rebounding center to put with Olynyk and Sully.

Late first round picks and second is what was suggested, meaning multiple picks. Bass is not just some throw in player as everyone suggests, he is an excellent backup PF for any team, whether you like him or not. He does not make more than his worth and his contract years aren't too many. I don't know what people expect MORE from Bass given his pay and play. Then it's like people are saying late first round picks are just throw in too, well, Danny has picked really good players with late picks! RR straight up for Drummond is already a stretch, to me, it's not a horrible deal but I'm still looking for something more from Detroit.
Either way it's sliced RR, Bass, picks for Drummond is way too much.

I have nothing against Bass but with Sully and Olynyk the Celtics don't need him so they are not losing anything. If the team is good it can spare future picks, especially as it has picked up so many of them recently. To me it's not about Value, it's about getting the player you want. I always felt the same way with the draft. Giving up Bass and future picks doesn't take away from your team so use them to get the guy you want.
As far as Rondo for Drummond, As much as I love Rondo, with the team where it is right now and the fact that in general I value Bigs over Smalls (assuming close talent level) I think it's a good move.
If you rather have Rondo on the team then Drummond then this trade makes no sense no matter who or what you throw in. At this point in time, I rather have Drummond.
