Only way Rondo is traded is if we get a stud back.  Otherwise you don't do it.

Well, I'm definitely old enough to remember Shaq in his prime, and I don't think Drummond gets near that level, but he's got the potential to be much much better that M. Gasol or Hibbert.

Also, if you guys think Detroit would be willing to do Rondo for Drummond straight up, I think you'd be surprised. WE would be the ones throwing in the extras to get it done, not Detroit. Drummond as the #1 or #2 piece on a championship team? I think there's a decent chance, and if you are right, you are getting that guy at 20.

Also, I've never seen Shaq do anything like this:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lVDtx1NtwvY

Why do we people automatically think Rondo is going to "expect and get" a max contract?

Drummond is a monster, number-one championship team option (which Rondo isn't) on the cheap for years (and Rondo isn't)  and in line to dominate for more than a decade to come (and Rondo isn't) at the toughest position to fill (which Rondo isn't).

Why would Dumars trade Drummond for Rondo?

Like how his team won the summer league championship?

How about no. Rondo for both of them would be a no go.

Wow really guys? Why would you want Nenes contract? He's just another PF too add to all of our young and developing ones. And JOHN WALL!?!?! He's pretty much the same player as RR minus the IQ, court vision, decision making, passing ability and leadership

let me be str8.
I DO NOT WANT RR TO BE TRADED!
BUT!

if a trade was about to be done.
this particular one would satisfy me!

and i also think that you are a bit harsh on JW!
he's only 22, last year he had 18.5/7.5/4 and by the time he came healty wizards had a record close to .500 (i think)
so ...

If Rondo wants to be considered a #1 option on a championship team, then he still has to prove it, because he has never been the leader of a championship team yet.

Exactly. Same reason why Durant shouldn't be considered a #1 option on a championship team. He has never been the leader of a championship team. Same for Chris Paul, Carmelo, Harden, George, Marc Gasol, etc.  ::)

Why do we people automatically think Rondo is going to "expect and get" a max contract?

because as Celtics fans, we assume he will be deserving of one by the time his current contract his up. i mean, i'm sure you've read all the points by now: stuff like "one of the top 5 PGs in this league", "makes everybody better", "dominates and controls the game like no other", "best player on a championship team", "best passer in the league", etc. etc.

I wish the phrase 'top 5 PG' would die already since there are probably 10 guys who are 'top 5 PGs'.

Going back to the original thought on this thread, I've gone over to some Pistons chat rooms and can't find one single person who would do Drummond for Rondo straight up.

If you don't think Drummond is capable of being a 1/2 guy on a title team, I'd say that pretty much everyone who watches this guy on a regular basis disagrees with you.

... and in addition, something to think about... he was not only the youngest player in the NBA last year, he was the youngest player at the Orlando Summer League THIS year.... he's 19yrs old....
