Going back to the original thought on this thread, I've gone over to some Pistons chat rooms and can't find one single person who would do Drummond for Rondo straight up.

If you don't think Drummond is capable of being a 1/2 guy on a title team, I'd say that pretty much everyone who watches this guy on a regular basis disagrees with you.

I doubt anyone here watches Drummond regularly. Pistons games were meaningless and boring that often ended in blowouts.  ;D

I've posted this in the other topic as well.

how about
rondo & BB for JWall & Nene?

How about no. Rondo for both of them would be a no go.
I'm a big fan of Rondo..but I would take just Wall for Rondo. That's a steal.

Well, I am sure they are homers as well. They'd have difficulty even parting with Monroe for Rondo, but Drummond is OFF LIMITS in their eyes. He's a potential absolute beast.

I would do this deal.

Statistically, Wall has already either tied or eclipsed Rondo.
Wall/Career Average: 17 pts, 8 assists, 4 rebounds per game
Rondo/Career Average : 11 pts, 8 assists, 5 rebounds per game.

Not to mention Rondo has been in the league longer than Wall has.

I also don't think Wall has fully reached his potential yet but when he does, he could become one of the best point guards in the league.

Not saying Rondo isn't good, but I think it's also safe to say we have seen the best we are going to see from Rondo.

Plus I'd take Nene over Bass because Nene gives us a legit center which desperately need.

of course they're homers. they're fans. as a C's fan, i don't think i would do Monroe for Rondo as well but i would definitely do Rondo for Drummond in a heartbeat. it's fair, imo. the Pistons become contenders (or at least, have the look of a contender) until injuries ruin them, and we get a really solid center whom we can build around, plus who would go well with either Sully or Olynyk (i'm assuming one will be traded eventually).

Very few Celts fans wanted to trade Big Al for KG.

I wish the phrase 'top 5 PG' would die already since there are probably 10 guys who are 'top 5 PGs'.

Really. The key thing is "led teams on multiple deep playoff runs" (2010 finals, 2012 ecf), which most players haven't done and will never do.

Can sombody tells any trade offer from any team who is interested on Rondo?

according to Washburn in today's globe:

"The Pistons are quite interested in Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo, but they don’t have a package to offer that would attract president of basketball operations Danny Ainge to making a deal. The Celtics would presumably ask for emerging center Andre Drummond, who is as close to untouchable as a younger player can get. Detroit would like to send the Celtics Brandon Knight and an expiring contract, but that wouldn’t be nearly enough. Detroit doesn’t have a first-round pick to offer because of the Ben Gordon deal that gave the Bobcats the choice of a Pistons draft pick over the next four seasons . . ."

so basically Ainge would want Drummond in a Rondo deal, Drummond is untouchable and the Pistons' wouldn't even offer Monroe. They would offer Knight and an expiring contract. I'd tell them to go to hell if I where Ainge. No Drummond no deal.

Thank you for the link...pretty ridiculous offer by Det. If these are the types of offers we are going to get for Rondo, I REALLY hope we keep him. I don't understand Rondo's lack of value around the league, but huge popularity among players/fans around the US - very strange.

Then it's not happening Rondo is an elite talent and cant be traded for a scrub and an expiring.

And very few Celts fans were correct on that subject.

Remember well the hysteria of that day. LOL.

Why do we people automatically think Rondo is going to "expect and get" a max contract?

because as Celtics fans, we assume he will be deserving of one by the time his current contract his up. i mean, i'm sure you've read all the points by now: stuff like "one of the top 5 PGs in this league", "makes everybody better", "dominates and controls the game like no other", "best player on a championship team", "best passer in the league", etc. etc.

None of which have occurred to date, or are likely to occur soon.

This is great.

You know what would be cool?  An SBNation function that would automatically post all trade proposals to the boards of both teams involved.

I suspect that fans of all teams involved would really benefit from the diversity in perspective.

It would have to be moderated pretty heavily though, probably. Haha.

well, that would end all of the "let's package Bass and Lee for a star player" ideas
