If I knew how to post those meme pictures I would have posted that one of Fry (from Futurama) squinting his eyes and saying something like, "Can't tell if joking… or serious."

I will always root for the Celtics each and every game. I just won't feel *as  bad* when they lose to Nets this year. I wish PP and KG all the best and really appreciate their service to my favorite team. Hope they come back here before hanging it up for good, and when they finally do I will love seeing their numbers retired and hanging from the rafters with other Celtic greats.

Know this, even if Shaquille comes out of retirement and plays for BKN I would still root for the Celtics every time! I am now an official Celts fan and I don't care about who's on the nets unless its against other teams! Now if Shaq played for them I would actually watch all of their games when the Celts aren't on and cheer hard as heck! I love me some Shaq!!! I'll root for PP & KG now but I won't follow BKN and NEVER against the Celts!

I don't understand cheering for another team over your team unless you are a player fan (nothing wrong with that)! Tanking fans, I CAN'T WITH YOU PEOPLE! Sad.

If this teams were both contending I would absolutely root for the Celtics and most likely even start to hate KG and Pierce if we met them in a series.  But that is not the case and really if we lose 4 more times to the Nets that might be the difference between being the sixth worst team in the league and third, which as much as anyone does not want to admit would be better for the team going forward.

Also I became a Celtics fan right around when Pierce was drafted as I was too young before that.  So i have never had to cheer for a Celtics team without Pierce on it so I really do not know how I will react to that.  I know I will always root for the front of the jersey, but for maybe this one season it might be tough to cheer against Pierce so soon.

You were right the first time, IMO: hard to call yourself a fan if you don't root for your team to win. It's about pride, and a tradition of working hard to succeed. Ping pong balls aren't the only way to build a championship roster.

I'd say that by the end of the 2007 season, 90% of CelticsBlog "weren't real fans", then.  Not only are such charges against our rules, but they're pretty nonsensical.

I will cheer for the Celtics....but I cannot cheer for the scrubs they got from jersey...i cannot stand any of those guys except Brooks. Bogans, Humphries and Wallace will be cheered against

Is there any chance they can dump Bogans and Humphries before the season? Or will we be subjected to seeing them in green all season? I hope not.

Celtics!!  I will miss you PP and KG, but Celtics always!!  Maybe KG will be rooting for the Celtics too?  He does bleed Green!!  I will also be happy if we lose a lot of games and get a high draft pick!!!  Now I am really confused!  Good question Roy!!!
