He's the last man standing of the Big 3 era.  We can and we need to build around him.

We all know how competitive the guy is.  And with everything that went down, you know he's going to coming out of hell's gate spitting fire.  I'm looking forward to his return.  He's an amazing player

I always said when I left the Celtics, I could not go to heaven, because that would
be a step down. I am pure 100 percent Celtic. I think if you slashed my wrists, my

Anybody who can earn praise from BOTH Kobe and Kidd is a stud IMO.

There's got to be a reason that all the GM's around the league keep calling Danny about Rondo and asking about Rondo every time he calls one of them. It's because they're hoping Danny has lost h is mind and really would trade Rajon.

For James or Durant, yeah I could see it, but I just can't see anybody else being worth Rondo. The Mavs call and ask about Rondo, Danny replies, "what about Dirk?" The Pistons call, Danny replies, "what about Drummond and Knight?" The Knicks call, Danny replies, "what about Anthony?" Even if they said okay, I doubt Danny would.

If all these players really do admire Rondo, they need to find a way to come play here.

Rondo needs to get his recruit on

I think they admire from afar..lol. Or they'd much rather him play on their team instead of coming to Boston.

CP3 really wanted to play for Doc, but didn't want to be traded to Boston. Is there something wrong with playing in Boston?

That's what I'm saying!

Come to Boston!

I think they don't like coming here because, they can't wear their numbers. LOL.

We have too many retired numbers

Wow... I'm as big a fan of the Celts as there is, but, I'm done with Rondo.

We cannot rebuild around and him win a title, because he's becoming more injury prone, has been in decline since 2008-2010, and will start to physically decline.  We can't even win with him as our 3rd option, unless we get a prime KG and James for #1 and #2.

His on ball defense was awful last year.  On offense he gets a lot of assists because he holds the ball a lot.  Did any of you notice the Celts played much better when Barbosa took over?  Rondo can't shoot outside of 12', his unrebounded misses are turnovers.  He doesn't drive as much anymore because he gets pounded - too bad that's a plus.

The rebounding argument doesn't yield much, he's only about 1.5 rebounds/36 above the average guard, and one way he gets O glass is that he doesn't go back on D like he is supposed to but fights for rebounds.  Laudable when he gets them and scores, not so much when the other team gets an easy bucket because he didn't get back.

If you factor everything the past 3 seasons on average, he's been outside of the top 10 PG's league wide.

He's not elite, we need to deal him and move forward.

Did you see how they played in the playoffs? I'm not going to pick apart everything you just said because those are your opinions, but to say he's outside of the top 10 pg's is kinda absurd. Especially considering how far they got in  2012, but whatever.

This is a Rondo appreciation thread.

I created it for (as the title clearly explains) "some Rondo love".

It's weird so many teams want Rondo yet the Boston media wants to trade him! Rondo is our future as long as he comes back from injury up to par. The Stevens/Rondo chemistry will be impressive.

Yup.

The Rondo hate is largely driven by the media.  Unfortunately, a lot of Celtics fans bought their vindictive drivel.

Ridiculous. How would you like me to destroy your argument? Line by line or just general post of why you're wrong?
