Was just watching NBA Gametime on NBATV. Mitchell was raving about Olynyk , and how he already has great shooting ability and footwork. He said you can tell his dad was a coach because he has such a high BBIQ. Mitchell also said "I'm telling you right now, in a few years when his body matures KO is going to be a 18 or 19 ppg scorer while pulling down 8 or 9 rebounds a game ".

Just thought it was interesting to hear from a former NBA player that isn't drinking the green kool-aid .

Really excited about the combo of sully and KO!

I'm excited. Now Ainge needs to find a great big man defender to anchor this teams defense. Greg Oden???

I'd be happy with something like 17 and 7 at the power forward position on solid shooting percentages.

Right now my hope is he can be something like a 7 foot Ryan Anderson with post moves and some ball handling / passing ability.

He'd be a really nice player if that were the case.

Meh. I get the points but the rebounding is a stretch. I'd be pleased with 18/6.

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.

Ha, or what about Jeff Green being one of the all-time greats when it's said and done?

I was a doubter but I think  15 -6 is not a stretch.

I said the rebounding Sam Mitchell predicted is a stretch. He said Olynyk could get to 8 or 9 per game.

And just so we all are on the same page with ryan anderson: He averaged 21.1/9.9 with .490/.410/.869 splits in the PAC-10 for Cal.

I actually believe that...I know it's only been 2 summer league games, but his game looks really polished for a kid coming out of college. Good footwork, good spin moves, and good post moves.

I don't think he will be a great rebounder or even a great defensive player, but he could be pretty good and a reliable big. Will he do that for us, I have no idea, but I like this kid

Kelly has definitly looked good. Showed some very versitle moves inside and outside. Really has shown a bit of everything. But alot of people need to take a slight step
back and realize the quality of big men that he's playing against. I will hold judgement till he goes against some NBA talent. In the division alone he will have to go up against the likes of KG Lopez Chandler Noel. All athletic bigs who are seasoned shot blockers and defenders. When I see his game flourish against the likes of that I will truely buy in. None the less tho exciting few days from KO

I agree. I think we made out pretty well from what was deemed one of the weakest drafts in years.

If hard work and a good big man coach eventually make Olynyk the most fundamentally sound Celtic in recent years when it comes to things like boxing out, how many rebounds would you expect?
