Horrible move from Ainge if he does this.

this could get really ugly, really fast. Asik's contract has $14 mill in its 3rd year, thats way too much for a back up center.

That's false. 2 years remaining, and the cap hit would be 8 million despite the 14 million salary.

This and he is not a backup center.

Awful. I like Asik, but that contract is miserable. Lin isn't a player you want unless you're tanking heavily.

Wallace and Asik on the same payroll? Disgusting.

If we can dump Wallace and get Demo and picks in return along with Asik and Lin, it may be worth it.

Bump that. Don't ship Rondo at all. He's our Pterodactyl Guard. We need him on the roster so he can drop Eisenhowers all over the court. Plus...who moves merchandise without him?

What he should be doing is calling Dallas. He could probably dump Wallace, Lee, Bass in a Rondo trade with them. and still get a 1st rounder.

Because defense is half the game, asik is as good or better than, say, david lee, but much cheaper. Still underrated.

How about we keep Rondo and try to get Asik. Don't want Lin

I can't imagine we'd do this without dumping Wallace as well.  Houston could use a backup wing, and while Wallace would be grossly overpaid, he still should be solid for the role.

I also like Asik, but his contract would expire before we'd be expected to contend again.  Doesn't make a ton of sense unless we were to extend the deal somehow.

we'd better get serious future considerations and/or prospects though if rondo is dealt. Future #1 plus terrence jones types of deals.

Ainge will make the right move here.  Hang on.

Asik 8 mil, 8 mil
Lin 8 mil, 8 mil

Rondo 12 mil, 13 mil
...

But even after signing Dwight, the Rockets have cap space to absorb salary, I believe.  We could probably included Gerald Wallace, Lee or Bass and take back a young prospect or draft pick and the bigger picture will make a lot more sense.
