this is false. don't make generalizations. i'm sure the 'older' generations would of been butt hurt about bird or their big three being traded. i'm 23 and yes i know it was time to move on from kg and pierce but i still will miss pierce playing. this thread is based off generalizations and will only divide fans of this board and team. i almost feel like the op was trying to say older celtic fans are better in a sense and that is absurd. from a 'young' c's fan i call shenanigans

I wasn't trying to make a generalization or insinuating anything to the extent you wrote. I wasn't even trying to make a connection to the Celtics. I'm just agreeing that the younger one is, the more they tend to make decisions based off instinct and emotion rather than thought, because they haven't gone through the life experiences that older people have lived through. Like you said, there are plenty of exceptions, and there's a lot of other factors involved that impact their opinions.

Any one else becoming more interested in finding out every one's ages than the original purpose of the thread?

(OP: great thread, just think it's cool to see... bet there will be some surprises).

Completely Arbitrary Theory...Agree or Disagree?

Fans under 30:

Like "The Trade"
Like Stevens as coach

Fans over 30:

Do not like "The Trade"
Wanted a veteran coach

disagree entirely. I'm 42. we had to get something for them. Better than letting them walk. this young coach is maybe what we need. we have nothing to lose either way. high reward low risk. he just might work out.

my sentiments exactly, and I've got almost 2 decades on you, Lep

and your opinions are highly respected by me. We each saw the bird era but you have seen way more than me. My Father used to tell me about the Cousy/Heinsohn/Russell era. great stuff.

over 40 here.  trade had to happen, 100% all in for the new coach.

I don't see any generation gap thing happening here.  Good to know we can't be so easily typecast.

Just to provide an objective POV, your frontal lobe (executive functioning/emotional regulation) is generally not fully matured until your early-mid 20s.

Definitely not intending to add another stereotype to the mix. And there are obviously a million individual differences and variables (e.g., environmental, as rondo seems to be implying) to consider here.

Edit: This was a silly post. It just came to mind because I've become a broke, over-thinking, dork.

Yes.   If I find out I've been arguing with a 12 year old for the past year, I'm not sure if I'll be embarrassed, impressed, or relieved.

I am 22. Wasn't a big fan of the trade but it had to be done. And I LOVE the hire of Stevens.

I'm fine with the trade. I'm fine with Stevens. I'm fine with his six year contract. But Doc had a five year contract so I'm only fine with Stevens if the players 're getting better, play defense, and after a few years he doesn't start wondering if this is the right place for him, and then get mad at Bill Simmons for calling it the way it is. I just don't want another diva coach.    10,000

I'm 41. I like what DA is doing.
The guy is open minded and a heck of a GM. He impresses me more and more everyday.
The coach move is brilliant IMO. If Rondo is not stupid, he should work well with the coach.

38 here, I think the trade was necessary and I'm fairly optimistic about the coach.

I hated the trade, but I'm fine with the coaching hire.

Roy, do you think we could have done better. Do you hate the Wallace contract, or did you not want to see the era end.
