Left out Iverson who may play overseas?

Bottom line:  C's don't have a legit starting center now.

If the C's had more than 1 Summer league in a year when we need the 3 we had last year we could spent more "live" time deciding this >:(

What's our offense ???
Who's our coach :'(

If I were handed this mess and had to come up with a way to win with the roster as it stands (minus the nonguaranteeds), Here's what I'd roll with:

Starters:

Rondo
Bradley
Green
Sully
Humphries

I'd hope that the Sully/Humphries combo could control the glass.  They're both double-double machines...Sully shooting the midrange baseline J, and perhaps in the high post.  The guy can pass the ball well.

Bench rotation:

MarShon Brooks or Lee, it's a training camp showdown!
Crash
Bass
Olynyk

I'd try to balance the rotations to keep offense and defense on the floor together, since we seem to have either/or players all over the place.

And I pray Rondo/Green/Sully can provide the offense that Westbrook/Durant/Ibaka do, that Brooks can be a 6th man scorer, Crash is our new Posey, and Humphries can provide interior muscle.

That's my best guess, anyway.  I think that team could win 45 games.

All-offense lineup:

Rondo
Brooks
Green
Crash
Olynyk

All-defense lineup:

Bradley
Lee
Crash
Bass
Humphries

What say you?

I'll take a vet min contract.  Who wouldn't want a 6'1" C who can't dunk (any more)?

Agreed with Sully Humphries at the 4 5. Those two are probably interchangeable. Bass Olynyk off the bench. This is assuming there's no roster changes before the start of the season of course.

Quote
"Those guys (Olynyk and Iverson) are good complimentary players," said Danny Ainge, Boston's president of basketball operations. "They need guys to carry a load for them, but they could find a place on our team."

While Olynyk will likely see minutes as one of the Celtics' first big men off the bench, Iverson will have to do like all second-round picks which is to play well enough to earn a roster spot, then worry about playing time.

It's too soon to say how quickly, if at all, that opportunity will come.

But Ainge believes Iverson has a good shot at sticking even with what will surely be a crowded roster full of young, hungry prospects such as himself.

"We had him ranked a lot higher than he went," Ainge said. "We were very fortunate to acquire a second round pick to get Colton. Colton is a kid that we've watched since his freshman year in college at the University of Minnesota."

After spending three seasons in the Gophers program with limited playing time, he transferred to Colorado State where he would play just one season after sitting out a year because of NCAA transfer rules.

To his credit, Iverson made the most of his one opportunity in leading the Rams in scoring (14.2 points per game) as well as rebounds (9.8).

And while his play for the Rams turned heads, it only reinforced many of the things Ainge and his scouting staff remembered seeing from Iverson while at Minnesota.

"I loved his intensity from Day One, and identified him as someone we needed to keep a close eye on," Ainge said. "You could see how his work ethic and intensity continued and his offense grew with opportunity."

And now with the Celtics, Iverson once again finds himself face-to-face with an opportunity to be in a better position than the one he's in now.]"Those guys (Olynyk and Iverson) are good complimentary players," said Danny Ainge, Boston's president of basketball operations. Ainge is the defacto coach until otherwise noted and he is opening a door for a 2nd rounder he likes. Danny knows his skill set and his weaknesses and has estimated the skillset is a fit. Don't put him in a position to fail...put him in a position to succeed. He develops quickly and signs elsewhere ala Perk/Steamer or he really becomes a Danny Boy and ends up here for a while. Either way and the Celts benefit. This kid is in the best possible situation for himself.

Fab iMelo.....I guess he us the only center

Danny can't scre up this team much more,

as usual , no center and 10,000 guards.

a mess of worthless players taking up space being paid millions to lose

they can hire me for the minimum and  be certain to lose big

this team is so sorry can't even get a good second string center

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.
As it is, I think we'll be seeing Sully/Humps.
I like Marcus Smart
